ZMR has lot of features which you wont find in Karizma-R like

1) Complete Digitalmeter
2) Rear Disc Brake
3) Mirrors mounted on Fairing
4) New headlamp and tail lamp which is now LED
5) Better Looks & Styling. New Stickers

Even the mileage of ZMR is more than Karizma R. Currently I m getting 42-45 kmpl provided you are a sane rider. I would suggest if you are looking for Karizma then go for ZMR it is worth paying 22k more

The FI and the Rear disk are the only major advantage in the ZMR.
The fairing,speedo,LED lamps are jst personal likings.
frankly i dont really believe tht ZMR is completely worth the extra moolah over ZMA.

I just now bought the karizma R and i though about the ZMR but the main problem that i thought is that since the FI technology is new, and if your bike has problems suddenly, then not alot of roadside garages know how to deal with the FI.

As RanjithMN said, i agree with him, the ONLY feature i like in the ZMR is the digital meter. Im not a fan of the full fairing since parts are already scarce and one drop will leave ur pocket empty. I think the R is much better but i guess its my personal opinion. And another thing, I dont think the rear disk makes much difference then the drum (in the rear).... but maybe more maintenance.. lol

Thanks a lot for all your replies... By the way which color is good in Karizma -R . Is yellow easy to maintain. Also if I am not wrong white looks grt on ZMR.

i own both ZMR and ZMA-R, and yes it is worth buying zmr by paying 22k more. being 10 kg heavier it adds up to its stability.

well for your third query i would say if you have money then surely you can go for zmr, zma-r is also fine choice.

zma-r has following issues which i havent faced with zmr -> cold starting, air lock, rough throttle in initial warming up especially in winters.

if you see zmr in flesh then you will admit that it is a huge bike, zma-r is decently proportionate bike.

engine sound is somewhat similar, same starter sound.

still you can go for zma-r it is not that far behind.

rest is your call.

#oil cooled engine.
#Back angle sensor switches engine off automatically when your bike falls.
#iGRS rear suspension & also front suspension is noticeably better in ZMR.
#Fully digi console, which is arguably best among all Indian bikes & shows almost accurate figures of speed while riding.
#Tubeless tires.
#Discs on both tires.
#new headlight for better visibility because of its wide angle spreading lighting.
#Full fairing.
#split handle bar.
#rear view mirror on visor serve their purpose really very well.
#LED tail.

moreover ZMR returns awesome mileage of 45km/l on an average & its definitely a head turner which makes you feel confident while riding in a city (which is priceless

)
so, according to me, all these goodies makes ZMR worth its money (i.e 19k-20k over ZMA)..& if someone is ok without these goodies then surely opt for ZMA.

i am riding a ZMA from Dec 2006 model and its a great bike for all types of terrain ...the best thing about Karizma is its Suspension and engine refinement which is hard to find in other Indian bikes... ZMR is also a good product and you can safely go for it....

despite having more weight from R, The ZMR actually offers slightly better performance and better fuel efficiency then ZMA R due to its FI tuned Engine..

see the list i dont think the ZMR is overpriced

Yes White ZMR looks very beautiful.... that y people call it White Angel

..its worth paying 22k extra...

The major difference btw ZMA and ZMR according to me is the style statement, if you are more style conscious go for the ZMR.

ZMA is a proven allrounder and it has all required goodies for a decent ride but the extras coming with the ZMR will enhance your ride quality and pleasure and ensure peace of mind even in the winter mornings (no cold start issues

)

buddy go for ZMA-R, ZMR is an excellent bike but goodies which it offers are not necessery for everyone. FI is useful for high altitudes.

HH service is getting poor day by day, owners of passion and splendour complain regarding service and i dont know how they will handle such tacho-savy bike.

and regarding complaints of cold starting, there is choke provided with it, use that and you will never face cold starts/

go for zma-r, its value for money and best color is yellow.

Almost all your queries have been answered by some renowned proud members of ZMA-R & ZMR.

Some inputs.
1) In case of a fall the Fairing is not that bad as presumed. I feel on the Right side on FRIDAY and nothing is broken.
Changed my perspective totally but the crash was really bad.

2) Added mass gives a rock solid stability with excellent braking.

Now it is entirely your personal choice.

i don't know what is cold starting...... my 4 years old ZMA gets started in one go even when i left her unattained for weeks

just take choke and hit the starter and vroom.....
