I think this thread is going off-topic. Mileage depends upon riding style, and our methods of mileage determination may not be totally accurate either.

@Original poster: I will summarize the opinions of ZMR owners for you. If this is a decision only between ZMA and ZMR:

    1) ZMR is a better Karizma. Period. We loved the ZMA that is why we bought the ZMR. Both are good bikes that will serve you well.

    2) Is it worth the money - this is purely individual's perspective. My suggestion to you: if you DON'T MIND shelling out 1 lakh, then go for ZMR, you will NOT regret it. The goodies and performance will keep you happy. If you are not comfortable with spending this much, go for the ZMA.

    3) If you DO decide to buy ZMR, you need to stop comparing it with other machines like Pulsar 220 or R15 or ZMA. Comparisons only result in dissatisfaction.

You have a Dazzler . Last time I remember you bought a Stunner PGM-Fi...*confused*

@Threadstarter : ZMR is worth the money if you are interested in the gadgetry it comes with. Else, go for the tried & truted ZMA-R.

R15 is a sports bike. Karizma is a tourer. sports tourer.
Comparing the two is like comparing 45d italia and 612 scaglietti.
The extra money is not justified. But the extra stuff that you get is all good. yes they are overcharging.
If you have the money and like the looks of old one and don't mind the absence of rear drum and normal shockers, i suggest you get the ZMA-r. Then without wasting any time contact joel and ship in upgrades and have a faster bike than ZMR with the same money that you would have spent on a ZMR.

          so there.

I am sure ZMR can give around 47 kmpl with same riding conditions. At 90-100 kmph speeds, it would deliver around 40 kmpl, where as ZMA gives around 34 kmpl.
yes it can give for sure, but i always calculate overall mileage. personally i dont belive in city mileage or highway mileage, overall mileage figures gives correct info IMO.

Thanks a lot friends for all your reply. I will test ride both of the bikes and decide on the day of booking. I like both the bikes but when I think of 22k extra I am not able to convince myself still. Hence I will test drive again and decide.... Thanks again for all your valuable comments.

Is there any thread which talks about the modifications to ZMA to make it faster than ZMR

rohit is correct in his point that ZMR's fairing protects your leg when bike falls..it happened with me also,as i met with an accident on my ZMR..fairing got scratched & also got a crack near speedo but nothing happened to my leg..that's cuz its quiet huge so it gives your leg an ample space..fairing is strong enough, actually much stronger then what i thought..
i would rather thank HH for making it like this cuz i got a new fairing but could not been able to get a new leg for me

& ya ZMR gives around 40-45km/L in sane city conditions..so it will easily give something around or over 50km/l on highways..

use the search bar at the bottom. you will find it. depending on what you go for you can have a 10-15 percent jump.

You're welcome. But I doubt HH will give test rides for ZMR or even ZMA. They have only one bike for display, no test bikes. Would suggest ask your friends if they have these bikes.
