Precisely. I was wondering the same thing. What cold start problem ? I pull in the choke - DONT open the throttle, just press the starter and she comes to life.

    @ indercool

engine in zmr is same as in zma, there is no mechanical differences except the FI.

    Bingo.

yes its true, but this is because of FI and some change in exhaust. when i was buying zmr their showroom manager told me that there is no mechanical change to the engine, except for a little tune- up.

The feel of ZMR is different from 60 to 100 kmph than the ZMA-R. The ZMR's 60-100 kmph timings are better with linear power curve due to FI; no flat spots or hiccups.

Also, due to FI, there will be no fuel wastage and ZMR delivers great mileage. ZMR delivers an FE of 47-50 kmpl at 70-80 kmph speeds on highways.

Anmol, I just quoted highway mileage and not overall combined mileage. The overall combined mileage for ZMA will be at 32-34 kmpl only. ZMR's fuel injection system will minimize the fuel loss at all rpm range. Did you ever calculate FE cruising at 70-80 kmph?? I used to get 40 kmpl at 70-80 kmph speeds with my ZMA. I am sure ZMR can give around 47 kmpl with same riding conditions. At 90-100 kmph speeds, it would deliver around 40 kmpl, where as ZMA gives around 34 kmpl.

I was referring to a specific bike (ZMR) in my statement (which has a fairing). Of course I have "heard" about something called leg-guard/crash guard.

Don't LOL too much, my friend. I had a nasty fall from my ZMR, but the fairing took the beating. I believe it did save my legs.

                    --------------

I will take it that I have limited riding experience, and limiting motorcycle knowledge, compared to both of you. Having said that, I think I have read somewhere that body cowl/fairing DOES protect the rider in the event of a fall (to some extent). And I have experienced it.

Don't assume that the other person is an idiot before jumping on that keyboard. If you disagree, there are better ways to express that. Thank you.

Aren't you underestimating the Honda's PGM-FI? I got 67kmpl at 70 kmph on highway with Stunner FI. I am sure ZMR gives 40 kmpl at 90-100 kmph highway cruising. With Stunner's experience and BI's test figures, I am assuming the above figures.

I am ready to take my words back and stand corrected if ZMR owners say they are getting FE below 40 kmpl.

Buddy you are correct but RIDE it to BELIEVE it that you are incorrect.

In fact only time I went for a long drive in the Expressways in this 3500 kms till date the bike has given the best FE.
                        Myself was pretty stunned.

Hey man, once you fall you realize that. Neither did I believe till my fall last week.
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

True! If HH can use the FI mill in regular ZMA or ZMR without the fairing, it sells like hotcake. I am gonna right away sell my Dazzler and buy it.

I have done a 156km dash @ 110kmph avg. on NH7 to Hyderabad got a FE of 38+kmpl so dude try it out once and comment on it

Ravi bhai sure told the right thing, only thing I dont understand is, how he can be that accurate with these FE numbers

Don't you find the suspension/chassis/dynamics to be better on the Dazzler and yes the brakes too?

I am really not sure what FE P-220 gives with speeds hovering around 100kmph, but for sure the R15 manages 40kmpl if you don't exceed 110kmph.

Would personally prefer a Karizma with PGM-FI. Rest of the features aren't as important and I may(if I had to pick from HH) buy a ZMR, chuck its lower/belly-pan fairing and ride.

^^Haven't ridden the ZMR and my impressions are from Karizma-R. Sorry, but rear-disc brakes don't contribute much unto my braking.
