  • best all rounder?

I am a college going student. I ride a CB twister as of now. While i am happy with the bike, I'm not satisfied. I want to go in for a new bike but am totally confused. I want a power house with good looks and a mileage not too compromised. Most of my riding will be on the highway, minimal in city. I cover about 40-45km everyday. I also tour a little bit, so i want a bike that can cruise at triple digit speeds without wrecking my back or itself. My budget Can stretch max upto 1.2 or 1.3 lac. So a CBR250r is out of question. I took a look at the new r15. Looks great, handles great. But the pillion seat looks pretty uncomfortable. I usually take a pillion. So that too is a priority. Will production of the old model be stopped? Which bike if not the r15?

I'm obviously looking for an all rounder which'll give me a bit of everything: mileage. comfort. Low maintenance. Performance. Style. Durability. Ease of touring. All within a cost of 1.2 or 1.3 lac.
Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

    Rides : Honda CB Twister(Feb 2011 - Present) | TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS(Sept 2012 - May 2016) | Honda CBR250R C-ABS Repsol(March 2017 - Present)

It is R15 for you. Try to compromise with the seat as you are getting everything else as mentioned in your post.

Why don't you look at the new SZ-R which is way below your budget, and gives you adequate power, a mileage of around 50, comfort and being a 150cc, you should have no issues touring on it.

      All this below 60k!

Else-wise, take a pick between the p220 and the ZMR..

^^^ I agree. SZ-R is the best bet. Apache 160 is equally good too. So look into that too. If you can compromise on the mileage a bit, then ZMR is very good.

You're obviously looking at ZMR or Pulsar 220 based on what you said.

ZMR will again give some 17.6 PS with good low end torque, but trust me, you might get bored after some months. Plus, its not too good of a city bike.

P220 is again, not too good for the city, but it has 21 PS power & good midrange which is fun to rev!

On the flip side, could you wait upto March 2012? We are expecting a Duke 200cc, which would have such high level components like 280mm front disk brake, rear disk brake, upside down forks, monoshock, 110 to 150 sized tyres, 20 PS power or so, etc...

That should be within your budget, quite reliable, good looks, fast & great for touring, low weighted, etc.
