I often use my friend's Karizma, since few years now... And I so miss the revs when I push it. Karizma's just a game of gearing- first 3 gears are short, 4th and 5th gears are so tall geared so it reaches good speeds. But nothing can substitute serious revs up there.
For short rides around the city, Karizma isn't exactly "fun" even though its great for long intercity rides. The good & linear torque output, however saves the deal.

ZMR has what extra to ZMA? some 0.5 PS (and extra 9 kgs too)? or that all digital console? How interesting can that be?
Low end of Karizma is great, but if you don't travel in the lower end a lot, you can get better bikes.

I don't doubt your experience, as everyone's tastes differ. But did you test a bigger Pulsar (180/220) properly (pushing it hard) before you bought ZMR? Just asking...

Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

if money is not the problem go for R15,
if u want a good commuter bike for long term : ZMA
If power, throttle is all wat u need, go for RTE/P180/220

R15 v2.0 I am sure will be a good bike to go for, hands down, long term wise, the attention is draws is as much as r1 ( people mistake r1 for r15 at times and ignore r1 itself ) except for the fact , no pillion comfort and that can be a bit handful when touring if they keep ending up on your back everytime you brake

Other than that , u can go for P220 or Zma-R , save up on the money and invest in a proper riding gear and touring gear too if you are serious ... Both offer unique qualities, depends which are important to you ( specific ones which u can find out riding both side by side ... Note: My experience is , I love P220 over Zma over short distances becoz overall its much more aggressive than Zma , Zma is like tamed horse where as P220 is a BULL .....but on a "I dont care what type of roads I encounter" long distance trip I would go for Zma-R... its the BEST Sports-TOURER !

Abt ZMR, it has all the ingredients that a proper Zma-R upgrade should have had to keep up with the competition on some lines, but then HeroMotocrop( HH ) went overboard with it and added a full-fairing too and said "ZMR"...good package overall, Fi system will give you amazing mileage(more than p220/Zma-R) rear disk and nice goodies like the speedo/rear taillight etc etc , but go for it if u are ok with the overall deal and u like the looks ofcourse

rtr180 for me is hmmm..... its a looker , handles wells, sounds great too but doesn't trigger the enthusiasm in me for touring(clutch is a bit harder compared to Zma, Vibs are issue after few thousands kms, Is great for city riding, but doesn't offer that big bike feel and absence of a semi or full fairing is a negative on long distance high speed riding ...2nd Best tool for those looking for City-Track combo After r15 ofcourse

Note: Zma-R plastics are bad , spares are a issue too at times and relatively a bit costly but I would say for the service those spares offer , its ok, u get quality ... Bajaj and TVS - spares one can find any day anywhere ( mostly ) , Peace of mind but reliability can be a issue

But in every case , u loose some , you get some ! It's upto you to decide what you can loose, and what you dont wanna loose ..

          Happy riding-touring !

thanks. been hearing a lot of this. I'm so confused right now. I'm not exactly bang on anything. so maybe i'll prioritize..

Bro. So many pages in this thread and you are still confused. Well, the confusion is because of so many replies

Anyway, I was in the same shoes as you. I wanted everything in a bike. When you suggest a bike for someone else there are so many options. But when that someone else becomes you then there seems to be zero choices suddenly. After all, its hard earned money and we do not want to put it somewhere and regret it 3 - 4 years down the line. I was waiting for the new Pulsar launch. I loved Karizma. Took a TD of a P220. But when I rode my friend's TB, it totally blew my mind off. It has lots of issues but still I decided to book it.

We do not live in Utopia. We do not get a bike which is perfect. As a mature adult, we should decide till what extent what we can compromise on certain things. If you want to select one logically, prioritise your requirements and select one which satisfies most. Else, go TD a few bikes from friends and not the show room. That way you wont have someone sitting at your back when you ride it. Feel the bike. Then let your heart decide.

Hope I didn't confuse you much

Thanks! Its good to hear someone think frm my point of view! I couldn't help but look at ur profile. Our Profiles look almost identical! Just one question: TB?? which bike??
i just cant take my mind off the r15's fairing... my only problem. the cbr is just out of reach. And the zmr... that is not what i call a fairing! Also, i cant digest the cost of the r15! Its so difficult i just want to get the dazzler and call it quits!

TB is Thunderbird. My profile was created before I rode the TB. So its changed a bit now

I am not suggesting you any bike bro. Decide if you want to listen to your heart or head. Your heart says R15 and head says pick something else. Pick one and stick to it. There are much tougher choices in life.

Remember one thing. Pick a bike which you will not regret buying for atleast the next 3 - 4 years. Heart or head is your choice. If its confusing, put it off. Do not make a decision for a month or so. Do not read any review, bike news or comparisons or advice. By the end of that time you would know what is really meant to be yours.

                      old thread bro.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
