What I am trying to say is mileage is considere good or bad when compared to the bike's performance. The bikes in question here are performance bikes. So anything around 30-35km/ltr is good enough. If you are expecting a mileage of over 40km/lyt from Duke 200, you will be dissapointed. AFAIK, it might get a 25 ps heart, so a fe of about 30-35 is good enough for Duke 200.

Now comimg to the topic on ZMR. Its a personal choice who likes it or dislikes it. I personally do not like its looks , rather I liked the look of the ZMA. And thats the reason got myself a pre-owned ZMA(2005 model).

    Hope could answer your questions.
rightly said. I don favor the zmr either. And yes, by good mileage i am aware it could be around 35 to 40 kmpl. But that is my secondary concern. I want a bike which can serve as more than a daily commuter. A bike that can withstand touring and give me good enuf mileage on the highway is wat i'm looking for. i'm just lost. everyone has their own opinions and i don wanna trust the company's word about their bike. Sadly, no ownership threads for the new r15

If fuel average not a constraint for you, then you have few good choices.

ZMA/ZMR - tried and tested tourer.
P220 - raw power and fun to ride.
A180 - again good power but vibes.
CBR - powerful tourer which can do triple digits easily and Honda's reliability.

          Now, the choice is yours!!!!!

yeah that's a speedo error & that too with a big margin.

@topic - looks are subjective as i loved ZMA-R earlier but started loving ZMR's heavy look even more from the very first moment i saw it & ZMR also offers everything extra from what ZMA offers including mileage & slightly better performance..so its upto you totally but both are good for your purpose..

yeah most of the times as that's the bike i use more then other bikes so i post mostly regarding to this bike only & refrain posting unnecessary things about those bikes which i don't use for considerable period..those who are using other bikes will comment better then them so let topic starter gather all input by different bike's owners & decide himself what to buy & what not..

@Thread starter: Here are my two cents , may be helpful for you:

ZMA-R: Probably the best commu-tourer in India right now.Excellent stability no matter on what surface you ride on .But this comes at a price , the fibre parts is not the best in its class. The spares for both ZMA-R and ZMR are scarce just in case required.

ZMR: Except for the FI and Rear Disc , i would not pick it up even if given @ half the price.Tha'ts my personal suggestion. The fairing sucks on highways.Hero honda's effort to make the ZMR look like the BUSA has gone horribly wrong. The vents on the fairing are for cosmetic appearance .They offer negligible resistance to cross winds.Since your daily commute includes highways , you may have to reconsider this factor.

RTR: One of the best offerings from TVS, but have to tolerate with the vibes.Decent enough FE also comes along. So the only thing that makes me reconsider this machine are the vibes, otherwise tailor made for Indian roads

P220 : the fastest Indian. Good muscular built quality. Has proved its worthiness in the market. But reliability of Bajaj is a big question.

R15 :One of finest offering for the Indian roads(in terms of performance) and comes along with a "YAMAHA" tag, so less worries

CBR 250R: its a "HONDA" do we have to ask anything.Recently did a 1200 kms ride with a friend (him being on a CBR250R) the way it performed ,i mean in terms wet surface/slush/good road conditions cleared all my doubts about this machine

All these are from personal experiences.Yet to try R15 version 2 and RTR ABS on a long run

B4 anything els: which is the bike in ur display picture? cant take my eyes off it. I am waiting for someone with a new r15 out of the run in period. Just want a review of the bike before i pin my decision down. Also contemplating the 200 duke. Then again it comes with reliability questions...

                            that's a harley IRON 883 , owned by srishetty

You must be kidding right, The new R15 or Duke for pillion comfort More over you are expecting DUKE to be under 1.3L OTR is like dreaming

Selecting a bike means what all you want to compromise on, You CAN'T have every good thing stuffed into one single machine.

and well... to who ever it may concern... i did not like the GS150R. Damn comfortable. But its too big for me. And a tad bit too heavy. Handles bad. No go for me.
