    ZMR has
-Closed loop FI having Lambda(O2) Sensor..
    -Bend angle sensor..
-sensor to note almost exact speedo reading
which are rare in Indian bikes
n almost all other goodies which other bikes of its segment has like
    -Digital speedo
    -LED tail
    -TT Tyres etc etc
so how can you say that all bikes in hero's stable are outdated in terms of technology?

Initially when Bajaj launched bikes with all gadgets, everyone felt Hero's models are outdated. Its not the case now. Check the recent bikes, except Karizma; all are updated. Check new CBZ extreme, ZMR, and Hunk and compare them with competition. Also compare the low end models too; they are updated to suit the current trend.

To the thread starter:- These discussions might have given you some idea. Evaluate the pros and cons and as many said, go with your heart.

@All :- It's not all matters that we upgrade the technology of the bike. Everything revolves around money. If ZMA has buyers in queue, why would HH/HMC need to upgrade, logic? Infact, change in technology/upgrade involves money. I would say, HH did not think to upgrade, rather they brought ZMR and also parallely selling ZMA. On the other hand HH brought some changes/upgrade to their other products like CBZ-X, Hunk since they had to had to fight a fierce 150cc segment in the market. This is my personal observation.

Some bikes don't need gadgets to be in the league. Karizma is one of them.

If your heart feels for Karizma, go for it.

                  its a simple choice

the karizma was first launched in may 2003 but till now its being sold and it serves as a good competition for the so called "current gen bikes". the new karizma-zmr still has the same engine. this simply shows how much reliable the engine is.

it doesn't shows how much reliable the engine is, but how a company can make profit without inversing much on their R&D department

Karizma's engine is a gem and one of the most reliable engines made in India. If you agree or not its a fact.

^^^ Well said Ravi. I totally agree with you. Karizma is one of the finest engines I've ridden.

Dont compare it with the competition, see if it fits your requirements; Every thing has a competition.

                          For an example:
Just look at the Bullet, it doesn't even have the Tachometer (Except Thunderbird).
Bullet lovers want bullet not digital stuff and newer tech. They just know what they want, and what the Bullet offers.

Just listen to your heart and be optimistic. You like a Karizma, just go for it. I've ridden it extensively, and trust me, it serves beautifully.

If you think like this, I dont think you'll even be satisfied with the Busa, you'll be wanting newer tech.

Even I thought on it a lot, and the thought of possibly getting something better still haunts me (even after booking). (GOD: Please help me! )

Good Luck on your purchase and keep us posted!

                            A Question

Wonderful thread. Just what I was looking for. I know this is OT and promise not to prolong it for more than this Post.

My Question(s): What do you guys think of a 2008 model ZMA-R, 19k kms run, clean lines and well maintained, available for Rs.44k? Should I grab it or leave it?

Everything that is nt updates doesnt make it outdated IMO. it becomes outdated when people dont like/want it anymore. Doesnt seems to be the case with Karizma at all.

It may not have that much of hi-fi technical upgradations/gadgets but in the end its reliability that matters most
