      Hi Sambit,

I have not ridden a CBR 250R. Hence, I cannot comment about it.
However, with R15 I did a 400 km in 2 days. Although the engine was running-in, I could feel the increase in torque and reduced need to downshift while over taking.

In anycase, R15 was not designed for long rides or touring. It is a vehicle that is focussed entirely for the tracks and does extremely well at it.

But that does not stop me from taking it on slightly longer trips and I enjoy the rides. Everytime I take it for a longer ride, I enjoy being the fastest vehicle on the highways. However, if you are planning something like Saddle sore, it would be a little uncomfortable with he sporty riding position and firm seats.

      Hope this helps.

      Thanks,
      Gowri R.Varadhan

A few R15s with the bigbore package have done saddle sores and they have been super peppy on highways, making it a blast to ride. Easy and effortless cruising, all day at 100kph and more and still with class leading FE is all what one can ask for.
Touring becomes a whole diff experience with the bigbore package that we offer. City riding is even more exciting, with less gear shifts and better throttle response. Also improves rideability with a pillion due to the increased torque and power ratings.

I wish the 'saddle sores' part were completely true Joel. My bike with (Bigbore + FFE + other goodies) couldn't sustain constant ripping for 3.5+ hours, without break. I truly agree the setup is second to none on streets , tracks and even on touring with breaks. But for endurance rides/non stop rides I would not recommend such attempts on (Bigbore+ FFE), considering it cost me my Saddlesore attempt.

PS: I had to pullover on last Friday morning (11/11/11) after covering 600 kms(and cancel my Saddlesore plans), when engine warning light started popping on. This could be a problem specific to my setup. I am just sharing my hands on experience.

^What happened to your check light problem? Please understand that this is in particular to YOUR bike w.r.t the coolant temperature sensor failing on you constantly. Its prone to happen even with your stock engine. Please have that fixed. I wonder whats with that damn CTS system. Please let me know what hlep you need from my end.

There are about 3 other bigbore engines which have clocked over 1500kms in a single day.
Most recently Naveen from Chennai, clocked 1644 kms in 23 hours. Bigbore, ECU, exhaust, head upgrade etc. And many others have done similar attempts.

Last Friday, when I got the bike inspected at Panache, SVC Bangalore, I was told the enormous amount of heat generated during the ride caused Thermosensor to go kaput. Changed the thermosensor and returned to Hyderabad.

I am trying to get hold of Service Engineer of my area to get the wiring harness thoroughly checked. Let's see what the analysis suggests.

Last time when this issue came, I changed the relays, fan and got the wiring checked. Since than no problems, whatsoever for last 4 months. The warning light popped only in the SS attempt. Let me check with Service Engineer.

^ Thats funny. In race mode, our engine does not exceed 88-92degs constantly cooking at 14000rpm. How do theyy justify this coming up on a stock engine then? Quite surprising with the answers some stupid advisors pass.

Well I ll get my bike inspected again. I hope I am missing something and the problem, if any is rectified. After change of fan, relays and thorough check of wire harness 4 months back, I thought the problem was resolved.
OT:Joel, one question is the Stock ECU (with CO value 5) a bottleneck. I know benefits of Race Concepts ECU. Just that, I want to ensure that with current setup(stock ECU and other modified parts), I can continue or not, without stressing the engine.

I've take a test ride of a CBR 250 with ABS in the showroom... the bike had done about 6800 kms..... My experience while accelerating was awesome... however, while turning the bike (both right & left) on dead slow speed like may b 2-10 kmph without the brakes applied on 1st gear, the bike was pulling to the opposite side. It was pulling so much so tht i stopped the bike & checked if the front tyre was flat! BTW I've been riding RE bullets for last 14 yrs.

This is an OT discussion. Anyways, please sort out all the probs with your stock ECU and wiring and sensors, before any upgrade. The stock ECU can sufffice to a small extent, but not by much. Please fix the bugs first.
