I've made up my mind for Pulsar 200NS(90% sure), will wait for market response and performance of the bike in all criterias when it comes out, Reviews are sounding awesome as if Bajaj has finally created a true blue racing machine :POriginally posted by Berlin View Post

Considering the following, it definitely should:Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostWill Pulsar 200ns be better than cbr 150r when it comes to daily city driving (gurgaon). ??
>> 200 cc, Liquid cooled, 4 Valve engine (Vs. 150 cc LC, 4V engine)
>> A Proper Perimeter frame (Vs. a Diamond frame with perimeter like element)
>> Much higher Peak Power and Torque
>> A much comfortable (upright yet rear set footpegs, like the Duke) riding posture.

Correct but in few countries Kawasaki already sells Bajaj bikes under Kawasaki-Bajaj Brand. Like in Phillipines they sell Pulsars as Kawasaki Bajaj RousersOriginally posted by blitzkreig809 View Posthaha but i don't even have an ounce of it.
Hey i've read somewhere that Kawasaki liked the new Pulsar 200NS so much that they want to sell it in some markets under their name :O

Really ??Originally posted by Enthusiastic View PostCorrect but in few countries Kawasaki already sells Bajaj bikes under Kawasaki-Bajaj Brand. Like in Phillipines they sell Pulsars as Kawasaki Bajaj Rousers

Hope Pulsar 200NS doesnt has the issues older pulsars develop after some years. That's the only thing that's stopping me from being 100% sure about it
But how can i know that if i plan to buy it after a few months.
DAMMIT !!
Why do everyone i know says pulsars deteriorate after 2-3 years
I've just never heard much good things about pulsars :/ It's confusing me like anything.

No man pulsars develop issues only if you abuse them too much. Remember many people have done saddlesores on pulsars and our @nin holds the unofficial record for completing saddlesore on the lowest cc bike (135cc pulsar). There are problems with the most established Japs too. My bike is also a Honda but I am facing some issues with it. Even the SBKs have some or the other issues. And Pulsars have always gotten better. And this new one also benefits from the knowledge gained from KTM. Tested like anything. So just have peace in mind. This bike would do even 2Lacs + kms well but take care of it. Have regular servicing. Have confidence on this mean machine. It will serve you well.Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostReally ??

Over the 10 years of the existance of the Pulsars, the initial ones did have some issues mostly with the clutch & gearbox. The inital lot (first 5 years) did face issues as the years piled on.Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostWhy do everyone i know says pulsars deteriorate after 2-3 years

But since the last 4-5 years, the engines have improved a lot. Had it not, it would have been impossible to be still India's most selling 150 + cc bike.. that too with tough competition from Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki. The Pulsar 135LS is a relatively latest developed Pulsar.. it's been almost 3 years since it's launch and I have not heard the early owners complaining a lot about the bike.
Moreover forget about the first generation Pulsars, the Pulsar 200NS is a totally different animal.
Except the brand name, nothing else on the Pulsar 200NS has been carried over from the older Pulsars. Each and every auto publication has mentioned this. In fact AutocarIndia has rated the Pulsar 200NS 9 out of 10..!! Out of all, I have full faith on Autocar India review.

I agree to that Autocar is trustworthyOriginally posted by Enthusiastic View PostI was the first one to post the same thing in P200ns review thread & I too believe autocarindia. I read their issues usually

Initially all looks good but i was worried about the long term ownership. It's pretty evident that the new pulsar is NEW. Design, engine, the chassis everything is new. But you know there's an image of a certain company build up in one's mind after listening and seeing the same thing about it again and again and again.
One incident i clearly remember. I took my friend's Bajaj Pulsar 220(carb version) for a spin near my house. On a clear stretch i managed to reach 104 kmph(that was the second time i touched 100+ on a bike). When we stopped at a red light, i notice a pungent smell and when i sniffed the bike's engine, it was giving off a smell of burnt rubber, god knows why. I pointed it out to him and even he couln't find the reason.
I was like, man even my old LML Graptor doesn't do that on 100 kmph (even when it hasn't been serviced since a year).
Can anyone tell me why that pulsar did what it did back then? :/ :O

I have taken my Pulsar 220 (Carb) to 150 and back(multiple times), ridden at 100+ for hours at a stretch but never had any such smells you just talked about. Maybe someone was burning a tire close to the signal, and the smell was in the air.. 104 is nothing for a P220, you don't even need 4th gear to reach 104 on the P220. I would have understood 'smell of burnt oil' if the bike just came out of a service(Due to oil remaining outside the crankcase after oil change). But 'smell of burnt rubber' is impossible IMO.Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostI agree to that Autocar is trustworthy

My own bike is 1st lot Pulsar 220 (Delivered on 2nd day of deliveries in MH), and after 2.9 years, I couldn't have expected anything more of it.
All I can say is, sometimes you need to take the leap of faith to experience something truly wonderful, firsthand. Or else, you can also choose to pick the 'tried and tested one' knowing fully well that you just sacrificed something much superior to gain 'acceptance' amongst the people you just described. If Pulsars were so bloody bad, they wouldn't have been the highest selling 150cc+ bike in India (surpassing everything else put together).Last edited by antz.bin; 04-28-2012, 11:54 PM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

I wouldn't buy a bike to gain acceptance that's freaking absurd. All i meant was that when i want to spent close to a lac on something i want to be sure about it that's it. And trust me when i say the smell was coming from the engine. why would i lie, it was weird and it happened that's what i am saying.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI have taken my Pulsar 220 (Carb) to 150 and back(multiple times), ridden at 100+ for hours at a stretch but never had any such smells you just talked about. Nice reply. I was waiting for your reply @antz.bin because you're best in clearing doubts and myths. And what I strongly feel is the bold part.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI have taken my Pulsar 220 (Carb) to 150 and back(multiple times), ridden at 100+ for hours at a stretch but never had any such smells you just talked about. @TS, the older pulsars produced before P200NS were decently reliable if not the most reliable but the P200NS should be a product you can spend 1lac without thinking about these. Otherwise you may go for other products if you feel.Last edited by Enthusiastic; 04-28-2012, 11:59 PM.Whats there in a signature?

Why don't you put a query on the http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...-220-dtsi.html (Carb) ownership thread and check if that was a one off or a regular phenomenon. I am sure that the 100+ P220 owners who visit the thread (on and off) would clear up your doubt. I never said you were lying. But did you check for the smell at the next signal? Did your friend report this to SVC and ask for a solution? Or was this one off for him too? I am also an owner and I am very much interested in knowing if there is an inherent problem with the bike or one off.Originally posted by blitzkreig809 View PostI wouldn't buy a bike to gain acceptance that's freaking absurd. I never again rode my friend's bike again so i can't really say that it was a one off or a persistent thing. I just shared an incident.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostWhy don't you put a query on the http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...-220-dtsi.html (Carb) ownership thread and check if that was a one off or a regular phenomenon.
