^^niggles or no niggles, one thing is sure, P200NS is going to be one hell of a machine on performance front, it's going to be right up there with the best. With KTM's association, I do expect Pulsars to become very tough on durability/reliability front. KTM's are known for their impeccable build & quality.

Initially all looks good but i was worried about the long term ownership. It's pretty evident that the new pulsar is NEW. Design, engine, the chassis everything is new. But you know there's an image of a certain company build up in one's mind after listening and seeing the same thing about it again and again and again.

One incident i clearly remember. I took my friend's Bajaj Pulsar 220(carb version) for a spin near my house. On a clear stretch i managed to reach 104 kmph(that was the second time i touched 100+ on a bike). When we stopped at a red light, i notice a pungent smell and when i sniffed the bike's engine, it was giving off a smell of burnt rubber, god knows why. I pointed it out to him and even he couln't find the reason.

I was like, man even my old LML Graptor doesn't do that on 100 kmph (even when it hasn't been serviced since a year).

Can anyone tell me why that pulsar did what it did back then? :/ :O
That smell wasn't from the engine, its from the front brakes (after hard braking from >100kmph), atleast thats what I've experienced & what the SVC also confirmed later. That may have been the issue due to the quality of brake pads used in that particular P220, older bajaj bikes had this issue (from my personal experience).
      BTW, I own a '07 Discover 135.

NOTE: Before you people start telling me that a Discover 135 cannot travel @ > 100kmph (which most genius' do...), its just my personal experience which I've put forward, believing it or not is upto you.
Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

I braked from 104 to a halt gradually not rapidly, What's the issue then ?

Hahaha rofl nice one. If you see the recent post especially made by @TS, the thread's name should be "Please someone tell me why did I smell a pungent smell when I braked my friend's 220 hard" (Might be a tyre burning alongside the road ).
            Whats there in a signature?

@TS The reason for burning smell is simple, that particular 220 might be running lean. I myself have the same issue with my pulsar now. Mechanics at service center simply make the bike's a/f ratio lean for the sake of mileage which in turn causes the engine to run hot.

Their is no problem in having good discussion. Perhaps creating a seperate thread would let more members visit it and contribute in it.

It just came up spontaneously, i wasn't planning on talking about it. It's a minor thing anyways.

So, friends i have narrowed down my choice to Apache RTR 180(if i manage to get my hands on an original one, not the new so called 'beast') and Pulsar 200NS(just waiting for a test ride Funny how both the intended bikes didn't made the cut :P
