Re: Replacement for Pulsar 150 ---- Honda Trigger or TB350 ?
Let me help you out with a suggestion better than test riding ............... look out for guys in Pune who provide bike on rents (specially for tourism purposes) .......... rent the one you are interested in and live with it for 2-3 days

Re: Replacement for Pulsar 150 ---- Honda Trigger or TB350 ?
Hi Guys,
A big thank you for all your lovely replies !!!
I would like you all to know that I dont have any pre-existing problems with my back or wrists. Back ache starts after about 25-30 mins of ride and vanishes sometime after getting off the bike. The wrist pain remain though, always; as long as I ride bike daily, once I rode my car for an entire week and didnt remember wrist pain happening during that period, so I thinks its also because of my bike riding.
Regarding my thoughts on different bike recommended to me :
Avenger :
Dont like its wheelbase which makes it difficult to predict while turning, moreover only recommended for highway ride
Karizma ZMR :
Big Bike !!! I look like a rat in front of it.
KTM Duke 200 :
Technologically, best machine of the lot but extremely eager machine, very accurate braking and very easy on city traffic. Performs best on high revs which I am not looking in my future bike.
CBR 250R :
Recommended by some, is surely worth trying for. I wonder what is OTR since my budget is strictly 1.5 lacs. Also, I dont like faired bike, Naked style is my choice. Anyways, its in my list now.
Pulsar 200 NS :
Jak of all trades, king of none. I am shy of Pulsars now due to my current experience and afraid it passes on too to 200 NS.
TBTS 350 again :
I have been checking reviews and ownership experience for about week. The conclusion which i draw from those is that RE machines are very contemporary, meaning they still follow philosophy of making each bike by their own hands. The assembly line must be very mechanical i.e. every nut-and-bolt tightening, all tuning, everything is done by hands. I heard the new factory does have lots of automation though. The escene which I am trying to communicate is, since RE bikes are hand crafted, no all of each of them is perfect when they get out of factory. But experienced diagonisis by good mechanics and correct tuning does make run for your money.
Most of the mechanical problem faced by owners were resolved at ASC's with some fine tuning. Fixing small issues like giving correct tension to the nuts of gear box have made gear change as smooth as butter.
So, when people write and say they have problems with RE during initial periods, I believe those all can be resolved in due time.

Nice Idea !!! Will surely try if possible in Pune.Originally posted by xpranav View PostLet me help you out with a suggestion better than test riding ............... look out for guys in Pune who provide bike on rents (specially for tourism purposes) .......... rent the one you are interested in and live with it for 2-3 days

I was thinking the exact same when I was thinking of TB350. Nothing made me change my mind, I bought it. Then it all started like a nightmare.Originally posted by roks2408 View PostHi Guys,

I think nobody can make you change your decision now. You will buy the TB350 no matter what!
Still, I would say to stay away from it. You will recall this line after 6 months on the bike.
Also, the service centre guys are complete dumbasses.
Anyways, first few months will be awesome! Best of luck, hope you do not face all I had to face...!
Happy thumping!

Go thru this thread, this very person was also confused between CBR250R and TB350. Me and other xBHPians have given our views there. I have also listed the problems I faced!
Hope it helps!!

Re: Replacement for Pulsar 150 ---- Honda Trigger or TB350 ?
Now question arises, what bike?
Your options, in no respective order.
Karizma ZMR, CBR250R, CB Trigger, FZ, Fazer, Duke 200, Suzuki GS150R, Unicorn Dazzler, Apache RTR, Pulsar 200NS
If you can do with the Fairings: Karizma ZMR is a neat package. If you can stretch, CBR250R burns the competion.
If you can not do with the fairings: Pulsar 200 NS is a very nice package. More comfy than Duke 200 and much cheaper. If you can stretch, Duke 200, but only if stiffer ride is ok with you and you do not have a pillion.
All other are around 150cc bikes. You can buy them, but if you can get more power then why not?
P.S. I know more cc doesn't mean more power, but here i am talking about actual BHP and NM.
Anyways, more expert xBHPians can guide you here...

Re: Replacement for Pulsar 150 ---- Honda Trigger or TB350 ?
Hi All,
Just did Test Ride of CB Trigger today and couldn't wait post.
The test ride was very short one, could not extract too much experience from that.
Some pointers are :
1. Engine is same as Unicorn, no change on that.
2. Big Positive : Same refinement and relaxed riding as Unicorn. A big plus for me.
3. Handle bars are bit wider for me. They want you to feel you have a relaxed ride in your hand.
4. Engine feels lazy below 3000 RPM. After which it attains the right juice and acceleration.
5. Gear shift seems a bit hard; the test ride bike was a showroom display bike so I don't expect it would have been ridden much.
6. Seats are a let down for me, they are not that wide as I expected.
7. Seating posture is great !!! Feels you are sitting on a sofa.
8. Engine breaking is missing which is there in my pulsar 150.
9. Instrument Panel is quite attractive, they are clearly readable in open sky. Since they are so exposed, I doubt readability in rains and extreme sunny conditions. I think design team should rethink the angle at which it sits.
10. Couldn't tell about braking since it was a standard version. Also, suspension was not evaluated.
I hope above points are of some help looking for Trigger review.
I am still in a state of dilemma on what to choose. Should come to some decision after I ride TB350 again.
Happy and Safe riding,
Rohit
