Well bro i dont think ki new apache has that much sucky looks, its looks more agressive than the older one whereas the older one was much bold & muscular in looks. What i came to know about the newer is that it comes with more refined engine and less vibrations with well finished fibre plated on the body. However older apaches are now available in some showrooms as i quoted earlier you can search for that if you are not much satisfied with the looks of 2012 apache. I know looks matters a lot but i stongly recommend to go with the new version if you are choosing an RTR, coz you will get addicted to it once you ride the beast.Im owning a 2011 Rtr160 nd seriously like the new RTR alot...

What is the first 3 things you are looking into your bike ?

        Ok.
        Well my order will be-
1)looks{i.e. how the bike looks on me(im 5'6 and 56kg)}.I dont wanna end up buying a bike that looks stunning but doesnt suit me.ex FZ-S
        2)Power and performance
        3)Cost of the bike
        4)Mileage
There you go. These are my top four priorities in order.

Get the Pulsar 135LS. P135LS is not like the old Pulsars and has a good engine I must say. They say Pulsars engine have troubles, so are any other engines in the world. Pulsars are common everywhere so there are more people you know who has problem with Pulsars. RTR 160 is getting old and slowly showing its age. P135 is fun to ride in city due to its low weight and cornering ability, the clutch lever pull is soft too, so your left hand doesn't feel strained after riding in city traffic. No matter how much you rip it, P135 will give you FE above 55. P135 would be suitable for your height and weight. FZ16 would give worst FE among the bikes you have chosen and RTR 160 vibrates a lot. If you want to carry a pillion, P135 would be ideal.
          I am back!

Yeah, one of my friend rides a P135 pretty hooligan style and he gets around 55 kmpl in city traffic, ripping on the highway with wind blasts might be a different story though.

When NS200 is not into consideration, then RTR VS P220.

RTR 180 due to mileage/power with ABS.

What you said about pulsar is true if you don't take care of it. But I would still recommend p135 for you it will suit you more than the other two bikes.

Thanks for the comment mate and I agree with your opinion fully.Except one point. The apache vibrates??A bit but it cant be a deciding factor. And correct me if i'm wrong but, the Pulsar 135 doesnt have the power needed anyway.I really loved the Apache 180 abs but felt it was just a bit overprized.Lets see how it goes

Well yeah thats what i fear. Its my first bike and theres bound to be some negligence. So rather than repenting over my choice later I'd rather put in a few thousand bucks extra and not worry too much about the maintenance.

Well, first of all, RTR vibrates a lot and is known to cause back pain to some people. I'm not against RTR or anything, just stating the facts. I can really feel the vibes at the handlebar. P135 has good power actually, what you see is just the power. Compare the power to weight ratio. You will see P135 being lighter have good power to weight ratio, both are equally fun to ride in city traffic. Both are not built for highway though. RTR 180 ABS costs around 84k rupees in Pune and will give you around 38-40kmpl mileage.

RTR 180 has its own problems too and no bikes are maintenance free, I suggest you just get your services done regularly and the P135 or RTR 180 would serve you good. If it is your first bike, don't get a very expensive bike as expensive bikes cost more in spares and services. One thing worthy of mention, the stock TVS tires on the RTR does not have good grip. You may want to change to soft or medium compound ones for better grip on road surface (less chance of skidding).
                        I am back!

Alright so I was browsing through the threads and found a few common compllaints regarding Apache.Kindly clearify if its true-
                          1)It vibrates unbearably.
2)Its not suitable for long rides.I plan to take a few long rides here and there every month. And by ling ride I mean 100-130KM.
3)THIS IS THE BIGGEST CONCERN I HAVE.They say that the Apache RTR is getting old and will be phased out of the market soon.Is it true??Cause I dont want to end up buying the bike and the bike stops selling after a year. Also IF it gets phased out will the spare parts be still available??

It sure vibrates, but not 'unbearably'. If that would have been the case, then it wouldn't had been this successful. TD and see for yourself.

                            Actually, 100-130km aren't long
On a serious note, members have taken Apache to LEH. Now that's long !

Every manufacture has a mandated requirement to provide spares for all phased out model for at least 5-7 years. And, no; RTR isn't getting phased out. In fact, the older version (without DRLs) has been launched again. That says the story.

We do get Yamaha RX spares that was stopped circa 2004-5. Hence, not to worry.
Also, the vibrations on RTR are blown out of proportions on XBHP. Yes, it has vibes, all bikes have it. Due to the eager motor and absence of a rev limiter, one feels that it vibes more.
Its pretty much bearable. A bullet vibrates more than anything else produced in India.
Also, its up to the rider to do long distances. It has a sportier stance than most commuter/tourer bikes in India, hence people take time to adjust. Wrong sitting position even on a Karizma can give you back/wrist pain.
                                Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!
