Do you live near a port? Apaches are more prone to rusting than some other bikes. I got this info from an apache owner but his was the old gen bike. Don't know about the current situation. You shouldn't worry about it getting phased out. If you like it, just go for it. All the best.

No, I dont mate.I live in Pune.
TVS releases teasers of new Apache RTR
      I found this link recently.
One question that may make me sound stupid.
Is the ABS the new version Apache is going on about in the article(check out the link)?? Or is it yet to be released??Because I sure didnt find any difference in the looks of the 2012 apache and the ABS one.

What I mean to ask is that is the new version i.e. the one mensioned in the link (with the taglines “The beast seeks a new skin” while the other one says “The day of the dark knight”) launched??
Or is the reskinned version already launched and is also called the the abs version?
I don't know about that news but I'm pretty much sure that those face lifted versions are already out. It's December buddy. And don't fall for such face-lift ads of TVS. The change is very often too little to be considered.
            Take a look here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/274...xbhp-news.html

TVS has invested a lot of money in Marketing and R&D for the Apache and it has been a successful product too. I can't see them abandoning 'Project Apache' anytime soon .

Hi, I ask you this and to everyone.
Does anyone have any idea about the resale value of the Apache 160 ,180 and 180ABS. Is it sold easily, because I hear so many people ***** about its looks so I figured it might be a bit difficult to sell it. I actually don't plan to keep the bike after 3 years. So does anyone have any idea??

TVS is definitely not in the Yamaha league when it comes to resale value. It belongs more to the Bajaj league. It's not a brand known for durability. And you never know how the Apache of 2017 will look like . That might bring the demand down. Not many people like to purchase old models.

But having said that, a well maintained bike will always have demand. And I think the RTR 180 ABS, because of its ABS will definitely attract buyers. It's an exception.

Btw, I find the Apaches to be quite stylish. Who said it's not stylish? And the resale value of a bike depends more on its engine than its looks .

Many members have already given their advice. If 7 pages of opinions can't help you decide, then you are really confused and its time to stop asking others and choose for yourself. This way you will love whatever you decide to buy and won't have anyone to blame if anything goes wrong.

My opinion, go with FZ-16. Its exactly same as FZ-s, just in single color, and you will save a couple of thousand.

                    Ride safe and have fun.
                    Regards

Harry , if you are looking for a unanimous opinion, you probably will never get it. It's you who should take the decision. The 'what bike' bike section is full of similar threads. All we can do is give you some options, mentioning the major pros and cons and try to answer any specific question you have.

If you are looking for detailed information, you should look at the ownership threads. You probably will find more than info there to take a decision yourself. If you have any specific questions, ask here and members will try to answer. Links to ownership threads are given below.

I would suggest the RTR (mainly because i own it ).

If you looking for power you should stay away from FZ, after riding my bike my friend's FZ feels underpowered.
And the ABS is a nice addition. If u think price is too much u can go for a non-ABS version ( but i don't see the point when u can get an excellent safety feature for a few more thousands). Or else u can go for 200NS has monoshocks, more power, but mileage may suffer, and there's not much resale value for the bajaj vehicles either.

Looks are subjective, so it's you who has to make a decision, others factors the members here would help out.

And as @raging_bull suggested u can go through the ownership threads, make a good decison.

If you're concerned about selling...let me remind you, It's better to buy a big end bike and enjoy it, then to buy these rtrs & fz and think about resale value problems.
