Since you're new to biking, you have learn to lot of things, I've listed some points for you.

    1) Try to ride the bike slower until you learn to handle your bike at all conditions. (It's difficult to ride NS in slower speeds).

    2) The NS has half-turning radius only, so it requires some more space to turn the vehicle.

    3) You're height should be above 5'8 unless it's difficult to handle the bike.

    4) The Pillion seat is uncomfortable, especially for ladies. So, better think about it.

    5) The bike needs proper maintenance and the maintenance cost is somewhat higher than the P220 but lesser compared to Duke, R15.

All bikes have some pros and cons bro, if your heart says NS, just go for it. Soon you'll be adjusted to your bike (Practice makes a man perfect :P)

If you take care of your bike, then your bike will take care of you :P.

      Thanks @Praveen24

      1. I am still a beginner, in learning phase but eager to buy the bike, worried if my hurries will create problems for myself. Should I buy a 150cc bike instead?
      2. Will get used to the turning thing.
      3. Height is 5.10"
      4. No gf neither am I getting married until next 3 years.
      5. Not sure about maintenance, I have left that part to service centers Will I have to run to service centers often?

If you're in learning stage better use some other old bikes for that. The run-in time of a bike is very important, the engine has to settle down perfectly else the engine's good for nothing. Once the engine is perfectly set, then it lasts long for years. Better try to ride a used a bike for a month (use a 100cc bike if you're in initial stage else go for a 150cc bike ride at-least 20 km's a day), then you'll be familiar with riding the bike. And also try to learn how to handle your bike at extreme conditions. Ride in city traffics, highways, off roads and terrains. Then you can go for pulsar 200 NS. Because Pulsar 200 NS is a high speed engine, you should know how to control your bike at top speeds.

You can easily adjusted to turn the bike perfectly within a week.

Your height suits the bike well, in this you're blessed I'm just 5'8 need some effort to balance the bike .

The pillion seat is problem for old ones only :P, your girlfriend or wife will enjoy the ride

Maintenance of 200NS compared to its siblings is little bit expensive, If proper maintenance is provided, then no issues.

You can go for NS bro, You'll learn lot of things once you start riding. But always wear safety gears especially while learning.

I don't know how much you're familiarize with biking, if you're at initial stage you just postpone buying Pulsar 200 NS, else you can go for 200 NS, better try to ride smoothly till 2000 km's, first few kilometers will be very difficult for you, then you can able to adjust with the bike.

Well while starting the bike from 0 speed at 1st gear.. Most of the time the bike will give jerk and stop suddenly. This will give you an idea at how good I am with driving Really intital stage, I can drive activa well thou.

Yes I can understand. you're at an initial stage of Biking, First of all try to ride a 100cc bike then you can go for a 200 cc bike, because at initial stage I lost my control and doesn't how to handle it. I remember I fell down nearly 15 times at the first 2 years of my biking. The first thing to do is try to start a bike and drive atleast 2 km's without any trouble, if you learn this within 15 days you can go for 200 NS. Because gear shifting is an essential thing for a new bike. You should know how to use the clutches, gears and brakes perfectly while riding a bike. Better ask your friends to supervise you. It'll take at least 15 days to do all the things perfectly.

Thanks mate! I better be more expert and not rush as its a matter of 1 lacs. Dont want to spoil the run-in period.

My advice is to get a second hand bike especially hero splendor (best one for learning). Learn basic things with that bike, try to ride more and more (more you ride, more you learn). Once you learn basics, then ride with high speeds 70 - 80 kmph, try to handle your bike at top speeds, Ride atleast 5000 km's. Then you can go for any bike. If you had any issues with this feel free to mail me.

by the way, to keep the engine at lower rpm <4000, i should keep riding at higher gears most of the time right like at speed 40 in 4th gear

Ya during test ride I found that and went crazy on the ride quality. But here I am more worried about the run in period as I very new to driving. I wont fall with the bike, but the question is of maintaining less than <4000 rpm

hahahahaha.......... yeah that can be a serious issue dude actually i faced the same problem the pickup is so good that i wasnt able to control my emotion which led me to the higher RPM but as you get used to it you will learn to control it and it wont take a lot of of time for that

Lower speeds - lower rpm's. You're right. But you have to maintain the speed limits in all the gears such as 35 - 45 on gear 4, etc. (for < 4000 rpm). To reach top speed you've to reach higher rpm's in all gears.

Bro I'm riding my bull below 4000 rpm only. I'm riding between 3300 rpm to 3700 rpm at 6th gear (45 - 56 kmph speed). above 3500 rpm engine is very smooth.

Whats the mileage you both are getting. And is it normal that sometimes by mistake the rpm goes to 5000 and then comes back to 3000 rpm while gear shifting. Would it affect the engine in those 5 seconds?
