    @ prathappa

First service should be done before 750 km's and after 450 km's. Today I enquired the SVC, they said me that using other brand engine oil will void the engines warranty. I'm confused.

Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS

i'll be buying the bike within a week so please tell me some problems which i can experience and their solutions. and one more thing according to the manual, it is written to ride the bike above 48 in 6th gear for 1000km. won't it lug the engine and affect badly? i think the best run in is to shift gears at 4k and dont extend rpm above it.

Also the maximum speed limit is given as 54kmph upto 2000 kms. Is it true? After how many kms can we consider the engine to be set and start driving at 100kph?

Nope...that does not void the warranty...
I've been using Motul 7100FS 20w50 from around 5k kms...
Yeah, the only thing to keep on mind is that the grade of oil you use is 20w50 and nothing else, otherwise it does void warranty.

          It is a gradual process...
There is no point if you kept your vehicle under 4k rpm till 2k km and just after that you start revving it to 9k...
Increase gradually... start to go to 5k rpm at 6th gear... move ahead slowly...

Also, its nor just the run in time that decides your bikes mileage and other things...
Its how you care for it...
Clean the chain yourself... lube it regularly...
Keep the vehicle clean etc etc

You see, after 19months , 20500 kms still I get 40kmpl is a very good deal for me given my style of riding...
my first bike, my first love :-)

Buy this bike and 'm sure you won't regret it...
There surely are vibrations but as someone said earlier, no bike is perfect, neither is this one...

No offence, but to me, the TS seems like way too worried about the bike. One suggestion, don't worry too much. Keeping the bike under 54km/h ? Who told you this. ? In the run-process, keep check on your rpms, not the speed. Baby it too much and it will not give optimal performance later, rip it too much and the result will be the same. Try to mix it you. Changing rpm's. And try to enjoy the ride.

            Ride safe and have fun.

So I should be driving my bike under 4k rpm upto 1000 kms and then gradually increasing to 5k/6k rpm after each 500 kms. Is this correct?

And what vibrations are we talking about here, kindly clarify. Is it as bad as apache?

I ride my bike at the speed of 45 - 56 in 6th gear (for 450 km's only). Now the ODO is 550 and for the past 100 km's I ride between 48 to 63 (Twice reached 70). Today I left my bike at SVC. The SVC guy told me that I can drive my bike at top speeds and that won't affect the engine(He also suggested that it's better to do this after 1st service because any manufacturing defect will be rectified at the first service only). Even after 1st service gradual increasing in speed is better for the engine's life. Vibrations are higher at lower speeds only. Engine's butter smooth at 3500 rpm at the speed of 48 - 51. When the gears are shifted at lower rpm the bike moves smoothly at slower speeds(45 @ 3300 rpm in 6th gear).

Thanks mate. So that means after 550 km aka 1st service i can start moving the bike at >60kph.

As someone had already mentioned... its not about the speed, its about the rpm...for the first 1k kms stay below 4k rpm then increase the speed by moving the vehicle to 5k rpm in 6th gear...and gradually increase the lower gears rpm to +1k rpm every 500 kms...

Its quite difficult to go fast on a bike in heavy wind.. or even light wind. Especially for a naked bike. There's a section of a flyover near my house which due to its elevated position is a very windy place. I could never go over 115kmph on it.

Check for any coolant leakages...if you see any drops somewhere if so take to the SC ASAP...

Whenever I encounter even the slightest bump on the road , there is a small rattling sound from the front panel . However what is worrying me is that day by day, this rattling sound seems to be increasing. I inspected the bike and I don't see or feel any bolt is loose or anything like that . Now today , sound are coming even from the rear panel . What I am guessing is that the vibrations along with the stiff suspension is making the fittings loose . I am planning to buy an allen key set today as it is not provided with the tool kit and the head light and instrument assembly is fitted with allen screws . Has anybody else encountered this problem and solved it . Please let me know . Thanks in advance
Dear Rohit.I guess it's the problem with your Number Plate Holder.Me too had the similar issue on my Pulsar 220F,got it fixed by Service Center guys. They just bent the number plates and the rattling sound is gone. Also congrats for ur Ride.
