Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS
Hi
I have a year old ns200 bought it in 2018 it is running fine and most of my commute to office is on expressway with speed between 80-110, the bike feels comfortable upto 90kmph and easily climbs to those speed without any fuss,But recently I am getting some issue with the bike after 100 kmph the bike seems bogged down.If i am doing 100 the bike feels it is struggling for air and refuses to climb to higher speeds and at times the bike suddenly gets it power back and with same throttle it easily crosses the 115 (you can relate it to the Maruti 1.3 MJD engine when its turbo spools).
My question is why it is happening at high speeds the bike shows no issue upto 80 and and this issue have recently surfaced have done some high speed delhi dehradun ride with constant 90+ speed with no fuss.
Kms done 11000
last service at 8500
oil used motul 7100
will try cleaning air filter to see if this helps.
Thanks

2 days back I got my Clutch plates replaced by an experienced mechanic for my 200NS 2012 model.
But from today morning I started having pickup issues.. When I rev my bike, it just makes noise, and do not moves the way it should be. Its behaving like, the clutch plates have gone bad in 2 days.. which is offcourse not possible.. There has to be an explanation and fix for that.
Please help, if you know or faced this issue earlier.
PS: I got my engine oil changed to Motul 7100 as well with this clutch playe replacement.
Problem was with Clutch cable, as it was a little bent near its hook on clutch assembly side, So it had to be replaced, and I had to replace Clutch plates, pressure plates, Oil Filter and Oil as well. 150 Rs ke part ke chakkar me 2400 ka fatka

Temperature sensur was failed after 6 monthsOriginally posted by Praveen24 View PostHi I'm Praveen Kumar a college student from Coimbatore. I planning to get a new pulsar 200ns in one or two days but one of my friends sold his 3 months old pulsar 200 NS for the following reasons. And also I heard that Bajaj have now stopped yellow and other colors except black.
My Friend Experienced these problems.
1) Ignition system fault
2) Coolant leakage and Radiator fan jamming
3) Compression loss
3) starting problem
4) Overheating issue
5) Meter console fluctuations
6) crazy vibrations from engine
That too after riding only 5000km.
Still it's a right choice to stick with the 200 Ns or not?
I'm confused please answer me soon.

Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS
Guys I have a query and I would appreciate if someone could help me out here. From the past days when I linearly accelerate, the RPM needle kinda vibrates in the 4500 - 5500 range. Once the range is passed the needle stabilises. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this ?

Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS
As far as possible do not add additives to the petrol. The carb diaphragm will not be able to withstand the additives and may deform and give you problems. Use the best possible petrol.Originally posted by shreezan View PostHere are the pics of the injector/ carb cleaner

Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS
Hey Rohit bro.. a small suggestion ... just let go of your inhibitions, load your NS and hit the open roads ON A TOUR and you would be amazed by what you get in return. I used to think the same way until I actually did it so I am speaking from experience bhai. Just got back last month from a fortnight long tour stretching 5600 kms, rode for 8 days total averaging about 650 kms a day) through some pretty shitty terrain through the worst of the Western Ghats in the monsoons and NEVER was I let down. I agree with unstability however I hit up 127 kmph by odo and I still had the juice to go on if I had not run into traffic forcing me to slow down.Originally posted by Rohit Rane View Post4 months , 3000 kms afterwards I can think of the below
1) It is NOT a cruiser . Wind blast is pronounced after 80 kmph .This affects your confidence to go faster . Seating not conducive for relaxed long tours . Also engine is torquey even the 6th gear ..no smooth cruising . Deceleration is also heavy once you let go of the throttle .
2) Bike is not balanced . Leans towards the left. This is more pronounced when theres a pillion along with you . For the same reason left turns seem more comfortable that cornering towards the right .
rests the usual
Bad bad tyres - contribute to the bumpy ride heavily . Do not invoke confidence is riding at high speeds . This I feel is the single most biggest defect in the bike . The bike can reach 100 in no time but the tyres hold you from going till there . Need to change to softer tyres asap . Flatter tyres like the one on FZ16 would be great I think . As it is the bike is taller than all the bikes out there - another negative . It means higher centre of gravity and less sped at corners . I think guys below 5'8 will find it hard to ground their feet .
Agree that the NS is unforgiving in a way... disrespect him and he kicks your butt up but love him and he will love you more.. ride with a light hand on the throttle and see yourself cruise at 90 all day without the jerkiness of the torque.
The leaning towards left seems to be pronounced in some bikes, not all, mine did not have any - with or without pillion.
Trust me, the NS even with the higher center of gravity can cause knee scrapes if cornering without guards, seen it experienced it have the bruise to speak for it and I did not feel any uneasiness in cornering. The reason of the uneasiness of cornerning to the right vs the left is more of the mind. i also face that but push him and he loves reciprocating, rest assured he wont let you down and the stiff suspension does not let him down, though it does let the pillion down pretty bad - a backbreaker
Dude, you bought an NS not just some bike man... respect.

Re: Problems with Pulsar 200 NS
One year and 11k kms completed . The bike was problem free for this year except one instance where the clutch cable broke .
Impressions :
The bike is in its element at high revs . Above 5 k rpm the engine is butter smooth .Keeps on pulling seems like there's no end to it .
The tyres are long lasting . Despite all the bad image about grip, I feel once the tyres are run in the grip actually improves . Seems like Bajaj was extra smart here.
The bike is almost all terrain , thanks to the high ground clearance , stiff suspension and tough tyres . I am easily able to climb on to sidewalks ( not that I recommend it
) and also did fairly well on the side of the roads in traffic where there is no tarmac and in wet gravel .
Cons :
I feel a bike of this brute power badly needs ABS . I dont get the stopping confidence at high speeds ( above 90 kmph) which prevents me from going further .
Am not the most adventurous rider , but I feel maneuverability and handling leaves a lot to be desired . The bike smokes all the 150 cc - 225 cc bikes ( except maybe the KTM 200) in a straight line , but at cornering other bikes ( especially the low strung bikes like apache and FZs ) have an advantage in those traffic signal grand prix that we all tend to get into
.
Again this is just me , others may probably disagree .
happy riding !

Same happend to my bike while using Bajaj oil.but after nut tight problem solved.Originally posted by shreezan View PostYup..i might ride like a commuter
.. It feels soo good at high rpms but i seldom take it there; but at low rpms a type of resistance is there and vibration is more felt .. Is it like in any other ns? .. I shift generally at 4.5k except for overtake moves. And one more thing.. After using motul the oil (spots of it) was started to be seen from the lhs magneto; especially from the wire leading to magneto ..
why did this happen?

So what are the oils available in your area anyway? Maybe I can suggest something based on that.
As for the transformation thing. Its way subjective. And all oils offer satisfactory performance in cold temperatures. Thick oils cause starting trouble and sluggishness but roughness and hard gearing only happen in higher temperatures. Maybe that's it, maybe your local temperature is why your not noticing a drastic change.

Also the only situation where cocktails work is if you're a drunk mixing alcohol to get a super kick.
Point is, refrain from mixing oils. And please stay away from Bajaj oil at all costs. Trust me, you're better off putting parachute coconut oil in you engine bro.

By the way, svc had mixed 200ml of bajaj oil as topup and previously used oil was motul 5100 15w50 in the servicing done 150kms back .. hope that isnt the issue?
