2) Coolant leakage and Radiator fan jamming
3) Compression loss
4) Overheating issue


the above three things is basically related to a single problem, that is, coolant leakage. yes there were some bikes in initial batches which had this problem, but it is now sorted out and current batch does not have this problem.


1) Ignition system fault

i dont know what you mean by ignition system fault, but yes my bikes both right and left side handlebar switches were replaced under warranty.


5) Meter console fluctuations

NS tachometer needle vibrate or rather shakes a little bit. but that is not a big problem for me.


3) starting problem

there is not inherent starting problem in the bike, almost all bikes suffer to some amount in cold weather, if thats what you are talking about.

6) crazy vibrations from engine

vibrations are pretty normal, nothing too much than other bikes, but yes there are significant vibration or buzziness in headlamp fairing

See, if you want an absolute value for money power packed bike, there is nothing in the market that even comes close. but if you want butter smooth engine, absolutely no vibrations, top notch quality parts etc etc... then obviously your priorities are different and the bike is not for you.

at 15000 kms, my chain sprocket set is gone... but i am not complaining plus since i have been riding other bajaj bikes for ages, so i have build a very good service back-up support network for bajaj bikes.

I don't know if me as a happy 200NS owner should recommend this bike to people who are really worried about it's quality, known issues and problems that may arise with usage. Because we live, ride and maintain our seperate bikes in different conditions and there is no way to tell what's gonna happen to whose motorcycle after usage. What I can comment on is that Bajaj doesn't have the best Quality control, but they're really improving and 200NS is no way bad like it's said by public or even unhappy owners.
It's a terrific bike, great build quality with a really strong engine and complicated as it's liquid cooled with 3 spark plugs. Gimmick or not, it does give mind boggling Fuel Efficiency even under hard ripping.. which absolutely no other bike does. It needs the rider to understand it's nature and the way you ride is not like a commuter, instead in higher RPMs (once run-in is over). That's when you will begin to fall in love with NS and ignore the so called "crazy vibrations" which are totally present in the bike. Yes, there are vibrations just as ANY other bike has. no crazy exaggerated vibes. They can be reduced with advanced Engine Oils. That's it for the vibrations, With time you will most definitely come up with small niggles once you have your 200NS with you. Question remains, are you gonna panic or just understand the minor issues that require a simple fix ? If you run into a sort of warranty related issue, Bajaj ASS is actually really good compared to others. You just gotta find the best Service center at your place.. That's it. Your 200NS out of the factory will be just as good as any other. Buy it if you really like it. Dual tone version is out and it's got some really cool combinations.
Couple of things... many of the problems that NS owners come up with are related to their AFR tuning, it requires a simple fix done by a skilled technician or by yourself. Remember to ditch Bajaj oil as soon as you reach about 2,000-2,500 Kms and go for Motul engine oils. It's worth experiencing how Motul would totally change your ride into a much much smoother machine, capable of being ridden hard for longer periods.

I saw the ownership thread of P200 NS and it seems it is safe to use Motul oils, instead of the Bajaj DTSi oils.

I have an even older Pulsar 180 UG3 that has served me very well. No matter what bike you choose Praveen, remember that if you take good care of it, it should not give problems that are unsolveable by service center.

In morning, start and warm up the bike in neutral on zero accelerator, don't start riding full throttle immediately. Get her serviced first at 500 kms, and then on as the manual advises. Ride slowly for the first 2000 kms and then start raising rpm, level by level, not immediately.
