Re: ZMR 2014 or TB 500 ? Please Helpp !
+1 for ZMR. A complete package of power, comfort and speed.
ZMR gives a super smooth, proven engine, good after sales service and unquestionable reliability.
TB gives lots of sound, lots of vibrations, will leak oil everywhere, and the dealer will speak to you as if he is doing a big favor by selling the bike to you. Then when it breaks down, which it will sooner or later - the dealer will find your fault at everything, say that the broken part is not covered in warranty and charge you lots of money for it. TRUE STORY.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

If you have so much concern for vibrations then obviously Tb is not for you, true that vibration makes a ride very cumbersome but little bit of vibrations are part of these iconic bikes, even HD vibrates at certain point, the gears are hard, rear shocker are like leaf spring.
As far as the leakage and ASS is concern yeah this is the most killing part of an automobile, most of the dealers speaks same language, fault will always be yours and not there's leakage is still a problem with RE although it's not like one that of past, RE has improved a lot, but then there is one point in buying RE which is it's RE hence everything becomes secondary be it vibrations, sounds, leakage, bad dealer attitude, RE makes you learn lot of things, plus that 500cc engine going up and down below the seat is an different experience altogether, so if you can manage all these fun like problems then go for TB else ZMR is the bike for you.

My friend recently bought a ZMR (2014 version) and I have to say that the bike looks nothing like the pictures. Its big and fat and to really appreciate the bike you need to stand along side it and maybe take it for a ride if possible. Bike is running beautifully so far. I have to say it does look extremely sexy from the front. Get to the rear and it just looks average.
If you have any query regarding the ZMR do throw a PM towards me and I'll ask him and get back to you ASAP.

Thank you bro for this link and also for involving people who actually own this bike. It does help a lot in taking a decision. So, i am 99% sure about a ZMR, and just as i was thinking of the date of booking, i came across your post (Zigwheels link) regarding the HX 250 launch, and that too at a very tempting price and most importantly somewhere in November.. And now am starting to think if i should wait for the HX 250. Would it be a worth while wait ?Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostThe below DIY by @Divya Sharan has helped in reducing the vibrations in the fairing to a good extent.. @TS this could possibly help you as well in case you decide to go with the ZMR 2014 if you find heavy vibrations.. this would also prevent the fairing from rattling/moving out of place as it is rubber

Hi Prateek, Thank you so mch for sharing your views about the ZMR. It has really helped me in being clear about the choices i have and making an informed decision. And just as i was taking the final steps of booking the ZMR, i came across news that the HX 250 may be launched soon. Am now contemplating if it would be worth waiting for it to launch.Originally posted by Prateekjayant View Postoops! i thought i was replying in the zmr thread @amar.yashpal i would suggest you that you should go for the zmr because when you purchase a bike ,you would want it to pamper you rather than you you pampering the bike, and if you purchase a re bike,i am sure that the second one will be the case ,so in my opinion go for the zmr as you said that the cbr didnt impress you much,..

Worth the wait?? You will love the bike if you can wait til this year end.. by then the ZMR 2014 owners would have completed atleast 10000 kms and their ownership reviews which will help you with some better decision making..Originally posted by amar.yashpal View PostThank you bro for this link and also for involving people who actually own this bike. the news about HX250R might be just a rumor.. but one reliable source that I know who told me about the Hastur before even autoexpo told me that the hx250r is hitting the roads by the end of this year.. which is hardly another 4 months.. can you bear that wait?

Bro thats the toughest call to make. To wait or not. I would definitely want to wait as of now, if its a matter of another 3-4 months, as the prospective new bike is a interesting proposition. Though i fell the HX 250 would be priced around the 1.8lakh mark. Just my feeling. Still, i would not want to go for a bike, and start thinking why i dint wait once the HX is launched.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostWorth the wait?? Hehehe.. i remember when i got my P180 UG3 back in 2006.. i read in The Hindu nrwspaper that p220 was going to be introduced just before i purchased the P180.. i thought i can wait for few months and i did. I waited for 4 months and no news on P220 dtsfi.. after a lot of convincing of dad, we got a good deal for exchange of splendor for p180..Originally posted by amar.yashpal View PostHi Ankey, thank you for your inputs. Guess what, in a month from when i got my p180, the p200 was launched. Much better in looks and beefy with those sexy short handle bars.. i facepalmed myself. I could have waited.. but again.. sometimes, we just cant wait.. our mind running everywhere.. but what if the HX doesnt get launched in the mentioned date? Disappointing.. right? So the decision is in your hands.. if you have decided the ZMR.. wait for few more months and see if HX gets hits the showrooms.. if it doesnt go ahead and book your zmr.. by then the waitinf period of ZMR wil also be less.. Re: ZMR 2014 or TB 500 ? Please Helpp !
Hi amar.yashpal,
If you are looking for top speed when you need it then certainly go for ZMR (eyes closed)
But if you are looking for a relaxed ride the go for TB500.
I own TB500 and till date didn't have any major issues. It has very good pickup thou but no top speed.
You can cruise all day long if you maintain your bike well.
On another note, have you thought about Duke 200 or if you stretch your budget then Duke 390.
Also if you are not looking for top speed on TB then TB350 would be an ideal choice too.Ride Hard !!! Ride Safe!!! Enjoy every moment on your machine !!! Cheers....

Re: ZMR 2014 or TB 500 ? Please Helpp !
I'd say rather not wait for hx 250r. Though Hero bikes don't have a lot of niggles but first batch is the first batch. Period! We shall have to wait for 5-6 months post its launching date to gauge whether it is as good or reliable as the other bikes from HMC.
If the TS can wait for a year, then fine. Else choose one.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

No waiting. ZMR booking. Lol! New bikes keep coming bro. If you wait for hx, there will be another bike launching a few more months later. I'd suggest you to book zmr.

No problem brother,Originally posted by amar.yashpal View PostHi Ankey, thank you for your inputs. The ZMR does seem to be having a lot of stuff in its favor. and it does seem to be ticking all the points in my checklist. Hopng i sort out this soon. Thanks once again..
Happy to help.
I also agree with Divya Sharan sir.the first batch always have some problems, it is the same case with every new bike, let me give you an example of Duke 200. When is was launched a few years ago, one of my friends bought the bike as soon as it was released, and the bike had electrical issues, radiator issues, over heating and what not. It is still giving him problems.Have a look at the duke owners thread and you'll see what I mean. But the company, on hearing the complains rectified the issues in the next batch, and so on till now. And now the Duke is niggle free and reliable. The owners of new duke 200 are happy with the bike. So I advice not to opt for a newly launched bike, till you see what it can actually do in the real world.
Also as abhi7013 sir said, there will be new bikes launched every 3-4 months, and you'll always be thinking that the next one will be better.
Choose wisely.
Ride safe.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

@srikanth kvnap is also an owner I know from xbhp.. they can share their experience
for more information, go through this thread..
he has posted his ownership with the bike with pics.. a genuine review if you ask me..
Although owning a zmr was a childhood dream but, I long drove 3 other bikes - Classic 350, TB 350, CBR 150.. the bigger siblings were out of my budget.
of these 3, I felt the RE bikes are just good for touring and CBR 150 just for the city. But when I rode the ZMR 2014, I had no doubts that this was the bike I wanted for now.
I commute to ofc (50+ kms everyday). I love every single second with it. To sum up:
"Everyday in the morning, I fall in love with it again. And every night, I just say to my self - I just rode something special"

Re: ZMR 2014 or TB 500 ? Please Helpp !
@amar.yashpal
i was also in the same dilemma...than i decided to wait couple of months for the HX to launch. if the launch isnt in any near future, then ZMR will be my choice.
i highly doubt the price to be around 1.5. my guess would be 1.7-2L Ex showroom. if so then hero will join the bajaj league, offering more in less price (quality?).
and regarding the zigwheels claim, we haven't seen any spy shot yet. considering a usual testing procedure and November launch, we should have some spy shots by now. but that dint happen. otherwise hero is doing it really in deep secrete
till then fingers crossed...!!!
