    I would say go for DS-500, FI is the technology that every bike in the near short time will have so why not choose that technology right now, throttle response is absolutely instant, plus engine breathes better with FI.

    He meant the Bullet 500....it is the carburetor version whereas the classic 500 is the FI model.

    If your a true bullet fan and dont mind losing out on a little bit of power (theoretically) the Bullet 500 is just for you...the sitting position is and has always been like the standard...a true tourer....very relaxed riding

    But if you like vintage styling and sometimes like to ride around solo..
    Then classic 500 is for you...the throttling is super crisp...although I've always felt the seat to be a bit hard...but thats just my viewpoint....pulls like a train...more colour schemes too

    Take a Test drive and select the one which touches your heart.
    Afterall...owning a Royal Enfield is a lifetime investment...

    Thank you do much for the tips and advise. As you've stated that riding heavy vehicles can be a good thing to start off with. Also I'm trying to put up some weight. Hope that within the next half year these changes can happen.

    It's the Heart that should be strong, if you are strong from your soul or energy you can overcome any obstacle or face any problem, if you wanna purchase an RE just take a test ride at your nearest showroom, or try to ride a heavier bike other than RE, heavier bikes only causes problem once you ride them slowly or in jampacked situations, but that too depends on how the weight is distributed in the bike, and don't be too possesive on your physique, eat well do some exercise plus your stomach should be absolutely healthy, if your stomach is healty you can overcome your physique problem, stomach is like engine of a bike if engine is healthy so is the bike and the rider.

    I haven't read whole of the thread but the way you have descripted the matter, is truly wonderfull and the answer by Mr. Monk is as good, the more difficult a bike is to maintain the more real it is, time has got the fastest wheels nobody can catch him and with time difference there comes evolution or revolution whichever way you take it, the older generation will always love there metal monster as compared to the newer cheeky sleeky ones, the guy to whom i was talking has got three bullets and the fouth one is getting ready and after this bullet he will start restoring triumph.

    Yes the newer technology is more efficient, with higher efficiency, and longer running, but that sometimes is not always true.

    Experts what is the weight of newer cranks in RE models, yesterday i was talking to a bullet guy, he was having old cast iron engine bullet of the year 1998 and he said that newer cranks are very lighter some 7kgs and the older ones are of some 12kgs, and because of lighter cranks the engine has got less life.I tried to explaing him that the newer UCE engines have far more oil flowing to the engine compared to older ones but in vain. So i thought of getting expert views from you guys.
