Apache 180 RTR Black Colour Bought.

        Salaam Guys,
Today Morning 11AM I took the delivery of My BLACK Apache RTR 180 Bike from Cochin Motors and Enjoyed a 37kms Ride to My Home.Bike Sure got Vibrations. But what a Handling and Performance!Took The Route NH49 Kochi-Muvattupuzha and the Cornering Jobs are great and Precise compared to Other Bikes.I agree with their Ad "Racing DNA".Brakes are Excellent!I felt this Bike will sure go places with a 6th Cog.

It got TVS Tyres(ATT 825).Bike was Manufactured on 18/8/2009.Stocks are only few with even main dealer(cochin motors).

Regarding the dealer ,I think these people likes People to Buy Bikes in Shocking Flat rate(22% plus "effective" interest) Interest. This Sales Guy seems Disinterested when I am Buying it for Ready Cash.
The Bike Costs Rs64,990 Ex-Showroom Kochi. On The Road it costed Me Rs71800/- including insurance, road tax(lifetime),CESS etc.Only Freebies I got are Buzzer and a Side Handle(Which I will Remove).

I found 2 small problems with the bike:
        1)Disc Pads Squealing
2)Front fork producing a "Thud" Sound when goes through Humps etc.
Asked a Road Side Mechanic to Check and He Said These are not serious Issues and show it to the Local TVS service centre to look after.Front Fork needs to be adjusted or Tightened ,I think.I am having a slight doubt whether it happened due to Number Plate fixed on the Fork, topping onto it.Guys ,Any Hope of Fixing Number Plate like those FZ-16/FZ-S Guys Does in the Top of the Dome ?

Anyways ,the Ride is great.I tried hard to keep the bike below 55kmph.As of Now ,Gear Changes are Smooth.Bikes Engine gets Real Hot and I think it is common for new bikes. The Idle Rpm shows around 2000rpm when hot,but when switches on the Lights ,it settles around 1300rpm(IIRC).
Will Post The Photos Today Evening or Tomorrow Morning.A180 RTR is hard to Distinguish from RTR 160(even the rear sticker job is confusing to read 160 or 180).
I will be changing the Engine Oil after finishing 100kms.Any Recommendation for the Oil for RTR 180?

Again ,thanks to All for helping me decide the Bike(I had 90% made up My Mind for Pulsar 180V4! and a sudden U-turn).

congrats bro on your new ride...
the disc squealing is not at all a problem to scratch your head over.As for the number plates, you can go for stickers instead...
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

Any Recommendation regarding the Running-in Procedures?I am riding the Bike at variable speeds and mostly around 55kmph and topped till 60kmph twice as of now.I think Riding inside the town gives more chances of going through all the gears and variable speeds ,although the Bike Will get Hotter.RTRs I checked in the showrooms showed a 90-92kmph speed as the Top Speed which I believe TVS Tested to "Break in" the Engine.

Why would you want to fix the number plate on the top of the visor. It would look weird.Leave it at the default place. The noise you mentioned is coming from the steering cone.Get it checked during 1st service. You can try engine oil from Motul or Elf Moto 4 Gold. And no synthetics for the first 5k kms.

And no TVS didnt "break-in" your engine.Keep varying your speeds at hovering between 4k-5k rpm.And short bursts till 6k-7k rpm is OK but dont be there for prolonged period of time.

Btw, please continue your queries and experience in the ownership thread.

@chicane1879:I think You are Spot on!That Noise will be Coming from Steering Cone.I thought in extreme scenarios ,number plate will hit the mudguard.anyways,ATM left it as it is.

Completed 156kms within 2 days itself .Riding style is ,between 43-52kmph with occational bursts to 60kmph.I am not used to tacho readings and rely on Speedometer for running-in.

Showed the Front Shocks and the Service Advisor at Cochin Motors tried a ride. They did something and now the Thud sound is not there much.He said ,if 100% resolved(Thud Sound) ,it may not be good for Steering Cone.Any Idea what is he saying?
Not Any Other Problems though.the Disc Squealing issue will be seen on first service at 600kms.

Is it better for Me to Change Oil Now(not free service) ?Which Oil is Recommended?I read owners manual and it always used the term "engine and transmission oil" and recommends some TVS branded Engine Oil.What is the rating used for Apache RTR 180?Is it 20W50 OR 20W40 ?

I would say "change the oil" as well as the oil filter. 20W40 is what is receommended I belive, check manual.

                              Perfect Choice!!!

See...one test ride made the difference...

BTW except for the RTR logo on the tank scoops its hard to differentiate from the 160
                              ...Back to HIBERNATE mode...

^It is True.If Grey or Orange(That FI RTR colour)? Option was readily available ,I would have reconsidered.
@bprags:Hmm..I just went through owners manual.it got reference of TVS TRU4 4T oil.I think the rating is 20W40??.RTR 180 Owners manual tells only about TVS TRU4 Engine Oil.Wise Enough!
