    As far as technology goes:
Yes, both bikes are from completely different lines of technology, but to claim that just because the P220 uses a carb for it's fueling and is air cooled and thus it has no technology, simply means you haven't understood much about engines.

Just remember this, carbs have been around for a long, long time. They are the result of many years of research and tuning by a lot of people. They are robust, fuel efficient and cheap all at the same time. FI is a computer based technology and as such potentially more vulnerable to issues, also it's quite a bit more expensive. The fact that it can have better FE is easily offset by the extra money you spend to get it.

For example, 220FI vs 220 carb. The Fi costs a good Rs13000 more than the carb version. That's 10000 kilometers of driving. Not to mention that the carbed one gives the same or better FE, thus you will never recover the difference in price, no matter how much you ride. Someone else can do the math for ZMA vs ZMR, it'll tell you that you'll have to drive a lot of kilometers to make up for the price difference just from fuel efficiency.

Now that we have that behind us:
R15, great for tracks, cornering freaks and tech addicts. Also good for streets.
P220, great for streets, power addicts and smoking R15s on straight runs. (Pun intended)

And as usual, thread starter, TEST RIDE the bikes and then decide. All of mumbling about this and that with regard to these bikes is worth nothing compared to getting a good test ride.

who said nething abt cooling ???? i just mean engine technology .. go try read wat its all abt not only the specs ....there is one good saying ... if u can read the brochure doesnt really mean u know how the rride is (from fast nd the furious .. :P )

the parts are not that gud as they should be in a high end bike(altough we dont assume it to be high end but for indian respect we will).....
        Do you really own a 220 ?

May be he moved to P220 after using R1 for a decade..!
That can be the reason why he is not happy with 220 and the technology.

I request MODs to lock this thread as there is no response from the Topic Starter.

Server Space is easier to find then parking still we shouldn't take liberty,

@thread starter-- Pls ride both motorcycles and decide, end of discussion

One more thing which should be useful-- If you are a sharp rider and just love revs without any further thoughts go for the YZF and i am talking R15 here,
If you would be commuting with shopping bags, wife, mom in toe, P-220 should serve you well...(means P-220 is more of an all rounder motor-cycle which R15 isn't)

True P-220 should be faster in a straight line, but lets keep this discussion for another day...

again useless illogical reply....what do you want to potray??that 220 is a commuter bike?r15 is best for track tool which 220 isnt...aside from that i find all advantages in 220 only..be it mileage, touring comfort, city flick ability, low end grunt, top end etc...

1.road grip---------r15(220 not far behind...only on cornering its difficult)
              2.riding comfort-----220
              3.mileage-----------equal
              3.maintenance------220 cheaper
4.cost of parts -----220 way cheaper
