This time, I am serious. I love Bajaj (but I hate the product quality) because it is the trend setter in Indian Biking. When Hero Honda defined performance segment with CBZ classic and Karizma, Bajaj redefined it with P150 and P220. Bajaj kept all the lazy players on their toes with constant innovative products.

If it is not for Bajaj,
      • We never would have got digital consoles, even in 125 cc segment.
      • We would never have got Fuel Injection in India.
      • Hero Honda would never have revamped the old CBZ Classic.
      • Honda would never have done any upgradation to its basic Honda Unicorn.
      • We would never have got tubeless tyres.
      • We would never have got clip-ons.
      • We would never have got LED lamps.
      • We would never have got split seats and grab rails.
      Because of Bajaj,
      • We are seeing alloy wheels in Splendor and even CD deluxe.
      • We are seeing electric start on Passion Plus.
And there are many other features Bajaj forced Indian Twowheeler players to bring them on. If it is not for P220, we would never have seen RTR160, RTR180, and the upcoming RTR220. We would never have seen R-15 and FZ-16.

I hate Honda (but I love the quality of the bikes) because of their premium pricing, and often it is ridiculous. It is ridiculous to see Honda leave some basic features even when they tag the product as premium .

      Few examples:
      • Stunner FI without Tachometer.
      • Twister witohut pass switch.
      • The deluxe Activa features shutter lock for the key hole, and the premium Aviator does not have it.
      • The bland looks of Unicorn, even after 6 years or so.
      • Not bringing their 250cc mills even after 6 years.
I hate Bajaj because they never take the quality part seriously even after years. They do not seem to evolve at all. They are concentrating on making cheaper bikes and sell volumes in the initial period of launch and ignore the product after that. Seeing the 4-valve P135 and its performance, thought it would be a great product from Bajaj, but I was put off after seeing the leaking oil seals on the first three bikes that I have seen on the road.

MODS: Sorry for the OT, but you can happily delete.

Everything starts if somebody says Bajaj lacks quality. What to do? The young generation college youth are so obsessed with their Bajaj products. They come down heavily if you say a single negative point about a Bajaj bike.

I was silent all this while, but now I'm gonna give my humble opinion.
What is good for one, need not be good for another.
Both bikes are certainly comparable, due to their falling in the same price segment.
One shines with extra features&power at a more inviting price tag, while the other makes you pay for the quality, even though everything else might not seem to be very special as compared to other vehicles in the same segment, the sheer quality speaks.
I am among those people who will pay that extra buck for peace of mind.
Doesn't mean the other is too low on quality or will fail, its just the difference between good&excellent (mind you there is a very good grade also in between).
@ThreadStarter: Guess you have had enough of opinions about the two bikes by now. Take your pick!

I dnt know wy Performance is always neglected in this country..
When it comes to a tag given to a company Which is Quality and Reliability.. I say pulsar's are the most seen bike on india roads..

more number of vehicles = more number of problems coming into light

I own a Pulsar but I love RTR 180 and will pick tht any day bcoz of it awesome performance...then RTR has got it own vibes Zone..

So wht i actualy wanted to say is.. @ TS if u want Peace of Mind Low maintainable smoother engine.. Go for stunner..
And if can watch two guys on P135 LS leaving you behind ..but still u can keep urself in the state of ~ peace of mind ~..

Go for Pulsar 135 LS..mostly i wont give u much trouble if maintained well.. Check out the ownship thread for P 135LS.. ll give u some idea.

I guess you haven't checked which bike I own. Do visit my profile!
AFA performance is concerned, I don't see that much of a difference in a 125&135cc bike. Performance for me is a vehicle which can cruise at speeds>130kmph utilizing about 80% of engine potential&as of now no Indian production bike can do that.
This segment is primarily based for commuting&not power, keep in mind the requirement of the TS is also for commuting, not touring.

LOL.. Bro dnt judge bikes by 'CC'.. by saying tht.. 135 cc LS is only 15 cc lesser than R15..

there is lot of difference in Stunner and PLS when it comes to Performance..

Yes, I'm not judging based on cc alone. I agree 2 bhp makes a lot of difference in that segment itself. Moreover PLS being 4 valved makes all the difference in revving&topspeed too.
                      BUT the questions follow...
                      1. What is the riding style of the TS? If he is happy with cruising at 50-60kmph, then I'm sure he will love the Honda.
                      2. What is his styling preference? This is a criteria which tends to make people overlook even all other aspects eg.Fazer owners.

                      @ThreadStarter: Where are you?

Being Indians anyone would like to see an Indian co succeeding, no two ways about it

                        • the points you have mentioned are in no way is hampering performance, these are gadgets(with the exception of pass-lamp, but even the 250R doesn't have, correct me if i am wrong) which Indians have got used and look no one is complaining about 250R coming sans a digi speedo, led's, projectors et al

Why do you think despite these flaws they(Honda) are getting away with it and may topple a player to become No.2 in India and they are No.1 in World for some pretty good reasons despite having tough competition all over the world

                        • Not bringing their 250cc mills even after 6 years.
They are turning a deaf ear and they will, whenever they* feel it is right, they shall launch it**

                        @ MODS:

The thread starter just wanted to see how we brothers at XBHP can have discussions on the specific thread, as he has gone to unseen.

May be he had a thought of buying then the moment he posted he gave up the thought and is some where sleeping his mind off.

Better close it, as the one who needed to know, never posted after starting it.

ah... there is a twist in the climax. The Thread Starter is back.
@shrikky, did you test drive all the three bikes? Each of them is a completely different character. you already have good number of opinions voiced here. You ride the bikes and then come up with your concerns - we'll have a better discussion then.
