Hi,

I am a regular fan of XBHP since last one year. First of all my Congrats to the team at XBHP for bringing out a world class Indian biking website dedicated to the Indian biker fraternity.

Regarding myself, I am a Doctor by profession but my heart and soul is all about Bikes and only Bikes. I have been riding since 1965 and my first bike was none other than the bike of that period Royal Enfield Bullet 1966 model. Since then I have been the proud owner of British Twins, Norton 600cc, Triumph Thunderbird, Matchless 650 G12, and BSA M20.

I loved those days when I could go full throttle with not much of traffic. In the past 35yrs since 1985 I have owned from Ind Suzuki AX 100, Yamaha Rx 100, Hero Honda Splendor, CBZ, KARIZMA, Bajaj Kawasaki ELIMINATOR, Yamaha FZ 150, and now SUZUKI BANDIT 1250s. In between I have owned a Lambretta, Fantabulus, and Rajdoot Bobby. I have travelled extensively in Tamil Nadu and my longest distance being 600kms to Kanyakumari from Krishnagiri in 8hrs in my Karizma.

I have taken part in Scissors Rally in 1972. At present I have Suzuki Bandit 1250s, Royal Enfield Bullet 1969, 1988 RX 100, and Honda Dio.

I was a regular follower of Motor Cycle and car racing at SHOLAVARAM since 1960. I have watched SUBASHCHANDRA BOSE on his BULLET and the racers from CEYLON on their NORTONS and BSA. I have watched the late KARIVARDAN, MAHARAJA of GONDAL on their modified cars.

I can never forget those days and the impact they had on me. I have been to the Mecca of Motor Racing at Irugantukottai when riders from Malaysia and Srilanka participated.

My Experience, As a biker from the good old days to the present. Though we did not have much choice of vehicles the roads were free and we could ride without a care in the world which cannot be said of the condition prevailing now. Roads are good, you have choice of vehicles but traffic is chaotic, nobody follows traffic rules and don't have concern for the other road users.

The discussion on threads explaining bike performance and maintenance is very helpful for those who are into working on their bikes. The thread on touring and stunting caters to every segment on the biking fraternity. I only wish I had exposure like XBhp magazine and Online facility, when I started riding 46 yrs. ago, which would have made me a better rider.

MY HUMBLE ADVICE to the young generation of bikers, wear proper riding gear follow traffic rules, have consideration for other road users and drive defensively. You are never too old to ride. It is not age it is attitude as I have found out at the age of 74. To be able you have to take care of your health and keep fit with regular exercise. I usually spend one to two hrs of jogging stretching and yoga.
