Yes, I'll post "Restoration Procedure" I do follow in restoring bikes, let me take some time to gather my breath and sit down, with my INDEX finger
, to do the write up.Regarding ,Jawa/ yezdi engine cases(?), complete engine & G box unit are to be "Argenised" ( except Cylinder).
This Argenising is nothing but a ENAMEL BASE Aluminum painting without any under coat priming.
At manufacturing units, all the Aluminum componets (in this case our engine covers), after maching to the drawing, they were washed with some special methods & then Argenised.( But this kind of Argenising has been elminated & special " Heat Resistant Paint" is used in modern machines)
ps: Chrome plating to covers is mostly done by "Chopper Builders",
Leaving alone the pros & cons of Chrome plating, it is very difficult to do to components like engine & Gear box cases with intricate shapes & profiles by Conventional Plating techniques
