      BoreX stroke: 40X 38 mm.
gear box: ' Two speed constant mesh gears in oil bath.the engagement is obtained thru' sliding dog, controlled by left twist grip & flexible cable. final drive by chain.
Suspension( front): by means of rocker arms & internal springs of progresive type, a rubber pad limits the bottom stroke.
( rear) : by swing fork & helical springs at both sides enclosed in a cartridges ( see the pic.....looks like slender shocks)
Brakes: of internal expanding type, controlled by lever at the right of handle bar, & rear brake is activated by "back pedaling" the crank pedals (with positive reason, should not use, since might cause dangerous stopping of the machine)
Air intake is acheived through a mettalic filter placed in side the frame cradle , this silences the intake noise considerably, a strangler is there to obstruct air, while cold start.

pps: Friends !! .. like Sudharma sir, all should come out to the forum..............to discuss "ifs & buts",[/quote]

This is what I like about this forum. You learn something every day, refresh your memory, update your data. Very helpful and polite members.

Coming back to the seats, When you look at these Old Bikes with the Dual seat ( factory fitted ) notice the gap between the front of the seat, the tank rear end and the frame?. Where as the sprung saddle merges nicely with the contour of the bike ( only my feeling ).What do you think?

        Regards,
