My Lambretta 48 before restO & some corrections
Originally posted by powertwin View PostMy Lambretta 48 or popularly known as "Auto cycle" 1959, two speed,reliable bike.from INNOCENTI , Italy
When "API" started making scooters in India, they started manufacturing this bike, known as "LAXMI 48"

PS: While posting B4 restoration pics of this bike, will post some pics of this with better resolution
Sorry Friends,just few days before I noticed my mistake, it must be
KGP instead of API.....all 'am talking about LAXMI 48, the Indian successor to Lambretta 48 of Italy.
& the above bike is 1957, not 1959 as posted earlier.
Find the this bike pic before restoration @ 2004
:

This was my first project....
ps: Accidentally I found this in my Old pen-drive, while searching for some Sooraj Bike pics ( to be posted at "Ownership thread" )
A Night mare indeed
.
If not for the Daimler's wooden bike to the Y2K, u at least have an enviable collection of the nonpolluting Bicycle to the three-wheeled comercial vehicle that was on races!!
*************************************>>>>>>>>>>>>^ ^^^
Here you go with a Bi- cycle with Engine, Fossil fuel, silencer & bit noisy ,hence may be Polluting...but any thing with Wheels ..is
My recent addition " Ralli engine powered HERCULES ROCKSHOAX" ( yet to be restored though..)

This was the first Bi cycle to have DUAL SUSPENSION (at India), Members not to be confused about the Hub brakes & stuff, will post " History of Ralli fractional Horse power engines in to TI ( Tube Investments ltd) brand HERCULES Bicycles in India at early '80 s,..now :

One more Non- polluting TWO Wheeler,with polluting Head light
Title, though bit LONG ,..the Bi cycle is bit TALL then the regular ones
Yes it is a 24" Raleigh roadster Bicycle of Mid '50s ( this is a produce of CCIL)
Smooth & cool customer with all most all O.E parts except "oil bath", rear luggage carrier & rear stand.
About the Kerosene lamp : It works fine, ( the glasses never retains heat even after burning(??),rather lighting for Hours together

Fractional Horse power RALLI Engine & 22" Hercules
will post " History of Ralli fractional Horse power engines in to TI ( Tube Investments ltd) brand HERCULES Bicycles in India at early '80 s,..now :
Ralli India ltd, the leading manufacturer of Pesticides ,who was also manufactured ,I.C Engine powered Sprayers since mid '70s.
At early '80s, Ralli India launched a new IC Engine powered bicycle, by planting their 35cc ( not sure though..about engine capacity) to a TI Cycles premium Brand 22" Hercules roadster, but not before modifying their
engine with clutch & power generator to suit a Road ridden Two wheeler .
But this Bicycle failed to impress the consumer,in spite of good fuel efficiency ( nearly 80 to 90 kms per Liter of petrol)
Due to poor brakes & unstable with age old rigid frame, which was designed purely for human pedaling.
Our friend (the previous owner of my ROCKSHOX), took up the challenge ,which even Ralli India failed to try..
: He transplanted the same engine to his "Hercules Rockshox" ( The first Dual suspension Bicycle from India), & also upgrading the brakes by modifying with Suvega's( Moped) brake drums & 19'" wheels......
.....Should have been great !!! , but dunno why he parted this machine
.
let me try to fix it,..but only after completing my current projects
1959 RE BULLET & NORTON 16H
Status: 1) 1959 RE Bull........just waiting for "Run In" & Test run
2) Norton 16H (1946)....hmm hmm....completely done, have to
re work the sticky 3 rd gear & Dynamo.

It was nice talking with Like minded Guy like you!!
Can you plz explain the term " Small time bike collector"???
anything with wheels, that to with two wheels is pretty COOL
, there is nothing BIG & SMALL among Bikes OR Bike collectors...its the passion that counts.
....If there is a Will then there is a Way or two
Will post some pics of a Atlas Solex Moped, which i clicked some time before.. ( have to dig out from my CD s)

@ POWERTWIN
WOW.. If you post some pics of ATLAS SOLEX moped, Ill be the happiest person
Searched everywhere in Bangalore, Im still unable to find a right place to source even a single part for this moped.
However, I found something on the Internet but it was tooooooooo expensive.
Engine = INR 35000
Brake Assembly = INR 6500
Headlamp = INR 8000 + Shiping charges
This is way beyond my budget to restore this moped.
I just hope to find something within the country

My MSX 2681 Gone,...next??
Thanks Dude, you taught me to post pics with my "MSX 2681" RE Bullet"Originally posted by nabendubasu View Post@MUTHU JI:here is my try to teach you how to upload pic here.

but at one stage, I was forced to part it ( Him??).just to pick my..RE Fantabulus scooter ( due to heavy competition,in fixing the deal in my favor
)

This gentleman was happy with MSX 2681 ( His faith in numerology failed after a test riding this beauty.....note: 2+6+8+1= 17=1+7=8
)
After getting my FANTABULUS, my next thought was to have " Bull" ,much better than my previous RE Bulls
another 1959 ( was particular in SR magneto ignition type)..??
