      • Tea / Coffee Meet Report & Gopnath Trip Final Route Plan

The Tea / Coffee Meet was a great success, 6 registered and 2 non registered (Till the time of the meet) attended the meet, 1 of the non registered members was Mr. Dinesh Dawda, someone who was totally an unknown person till he came forward and introduced himself to the group. He was the driving force behind some of the major decisions taken today and we all thank him for that.

As for the Agenda, we had met to finalize the Gopnath Trip, the plan agreed upon is as follows

Trip will be on 24th and 25 September (2 full days)
Meeting point - Havmor, Vastrapur Lake, Ahmedabad
        Meeting Time - 5:00 AM
        Departure - 6 AM Latest

We will be meeting at Havmor Parlour, Vastrapur lake, Ahmedabad. Guy leaving from other cities can plan their departure accordingly.

We shall have some light snacks and refreshments before we depart, we will proceed to the nearest petrol Station at Mansi Cross Roads for fuel.

We will take the Anjali Bridge en-route Dholka, from there we will head to Vataman where we shall wait for Prashant Soni. if we are able to find a good restaurant we shall have breakfast here else we head to Dholera where there is a Hot water Spring, we visit the spring and have breakfast.

We proceed towards Velavdar Wildlife Sanctuary, if we reach there around 8:30-9:00 AM we enter the Sanctuary else we proceed to Bhavnagar and then to Ghogha Beach which is just 10 - 15 KM from Bhavnagar.

We spend the afternoon at Ghogha and start at around 5:30 enroute Gopnath, there is a coastal road leading to Gopnath, if that is not good enough to travel we take the NH8E.

We locate the Dharamshala at Gopnath and check in. We head towards the lighthouse complex take a few snaps and then proceed to the Dhaba suggested by Mr. Dinesh Dawda, have our dinner and head back to the Dharamshala.

On Sunday we spend our time exploring Gopnath till 2 PM, have our Lunch and proceed back home halting on our way back at the Velavdar Wildlife Sanctuary to get some evening shots of probably animals at the water hole.

Reach back at Ahmedabad by around 9 PM on Sunday.

Royal Riders have had a trip to Gopnath on 3rd and 4th of September so we shall try and get some sorts of a feedback from them about the route as well as the locale as a whole. As far as the feedback we received from Mr. Dinesh Dawda the location is a must visit.

So with this I conclude the met report.

Hope to meet you all soon.

        • I'll be crossing Ahmedabad today sometimes by noon or so, not sure. As I'm still at Manor on way to Surat. Appreciate some help from Ahmedabad members if you can guide me to bye-pass the city & help me reach towards Rajasthan. Tks.

          Tks in advance

                • Thanks a lot guys; I'd so many missed calls & SMS's I'm really thrilled & overwhelmed at your help. I really feel proud to be a part of this community & I feel what I did is right by posting for a help.

Ayaz - Had I been a little earlier, I would've LOVED, absolutely LOVED this stretch. Amazing, really amazing; and you know what? The best part is I'd a loose chain & I was happy to see a HMSI ASC & they fixed the chain for me. I owe you one; wish, they could've allowed motorcycles in the express highway, I would've made well in advance & could've met few more xBhpians. Anyway, this is also fine.

I realized a little while ago that when I called you guys up, I was at Valsad & not in Surat. So the time when I started from Valsad was around 11:25 & when I came to the express highway it was 2:30!!! Guess my speed!!!

                  • @Aargee, I'm really happy that you were able to find an HMSI ASC on the way and you were able to get your issues resolved.

I think you took a very good decision in staying over night at Palanpur, you must have driven over 700 KM on the day and rest is a must.

Valsad to Baroda in 3 Hrs is good speed and that too in rains.

Do let us know know you are returning back and if you are returning back from the same route or you are taking any alternate routes.

                    PS.

A lot of XBHPians in Gujarat idolize you and the CBR owners would love to meet you and share their experiences with you.

So if you are returning back do let us know.

Guess what? The room rent was just Rs 380 & it was very clean. Since they didn't have a single room, they gave me a double room & charged for single

That's one ride, I can't forget. Absolutely brilliant; first time ever in my life, I rode with confidence & complete worry free about fuel stations; for every 2-3 Kms I could see a fuel station all way from Gujarat border to Ahmedabad. I was reminded of US where this is the typical scenario. Trust me, I LOVE Gujarat; very much respect Gujarathi people; most of them are Entrepreneurs, not only here, but even in the West.

Taking alternate route, hopefully by UP; I'd like to try a different route.

                          • Leh 2012

                            Dear friends,

I have started a thread for a trip to Leh in 2012; I could not do it this year so have planned it for the next.

May I request you to give the thread as much publicity as possible so that similarly inclined members can get together? The thread is in the Tourer section and is named The Leh 2012 Planner.

                            Thanks in advance,

                            Regards,

                            Maneesh
