  • Route Map for the Interstate G2G
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India - Google Maps

Ahmedabad members will roughly be following this route, any suggestions and inputs are most welcome.

Planning to leave at 4 PM on Friday, hault at Vadodra and Surat to meet the members in these 2 cities.

Reach Vansada by around 10-11 PM, take rest.

Saturday Early morning visit Saputara return back by lunch time and meet up with the Mumbai and Pune Groups.

Sunday early morning leave for Purna Wild life Sanctuary spend some time there, ride to Ukai, have Lunch.

Ride to Kakrapar then back to Ahmedabad mostly by 10 PM.

I know this plan is slightly different from that posted by Sudeep on the xBhp Thread, but we have members who I know will not be able to ride 400 Km at a stretch so I have tried my best to accommodate maximum number of places and breaks to give every rider enough time to rest and relax.

    • Hi there, guys

I have tied up with Maitreya. We will rendezvous at Bagodra chowkdi and ride on to Baroda. Ayaz and self will keep in touch so that we reach the common place.

Also, I would like to join the Saputara - bound group, if it is ok with them.

Lastly, as I am riding from Rajkot, I shall have to leave the last place on the morning of the 10th Feb so that I can make it to Rajkot in time.

      Regards,

      Maneesh

        • A quick ride planning format

          Hello friends,

I gave this format to my Pune friends and am including it here for my Gujarat buddies too.

We have an acronym in the Army. It is as old as the hills and the oceans and has been used by virtually every single officer of the arms at some point or the other. This is true specially for ex NDA chaps. It is applicable for every single operation whether in war or peace and for any formation from a squad to an Army Group. For bikers, I have modded the original a bit. It goes this way:

Z for "Zamin" (Ground) - everything about the terrain one is to ride on. For riders, it means the road and everything connected to it - surface, quality, length, turns, intersections, obstacles. Add as many FACTS as possible. Can be done on a sketch or map.

K for "Khabar" (Information) - originally, there are two types of khabar - "dushman ki" and "apni". For bikers, it will be only the "apni" khabar that matters. So, number of riders and their names, bikes, groups etc.

I is for "Irada" (Aim) - the aim. For example, this ride would have had an irada like"to ride from _______ to ________ and back". If superfluous, can be left out. But there is no plan without an aim...

T for "Tariqua" (Method) The exact manner in which the aim will be achieved e.g. start, ride formations, halts, stops. All responsibilities allotted here - ride lead, ride tail, group leads and tails etc.

B for "Bandobust" (Administration) - Assembly areas, Est Time of Dep (ETD), ET of Arrival, ET Elapsed, fuel, oil, lubricants, food, water/drink, places where available, repair and maintenance, medical, responsibilities. Names, places, numbers.

M for "Milap" (Communication) - Originally, code words, call signs, frequencies etc. Here, cell numbers of riders and their ICE numbers, hand (and leg) signals.

G for "Ghadi Milao" (Sync watches) - so that all riders are on the same grid.

Each part of the briefing to be done by a rider earmarked earlier.

At first sight, this seems a bit too much for a ride. But over time, one gets used to thinking in terms of ZKITBMG and then realises the wisdom of planning in this logical manner so that nothing gets left out. We all can have inputs on what to include and after this one-time effort, we have a template for any and every ride.
