I too want to cancel Kabirwad ride and Saputara ride is only to sort out the riders by their riding capacity and riding techniques. I know it is a risk to allow all the rider for interstate meet.
I personally feel that, even less riders can make a good image if they are perfect but somehow some members can not understand my point.

We are atleast 20-25 riders who have all the gears and we can say they are fully experienced to ride in any condition and I just want only those guys in interstate meet.
first of all riding is to give an impression to others on only the safe riding aspect, and can u please elaborate why you don't want to include inexperienced riders in the group???
who all we are me or u doesn't metter....at some point of time in our life we started learning about biking. we all were inexperienced at some point.
the thing is as an ''FB GROUP'' admin it depends on u how you handle them in any ride.
lets talk about the first ride of xbhp in gujarat.
what would have happened if the admins at that time would have consider us inexperienced and cancel the ride or simply reject us from that ride?
i saw many ''INEXPERIENCED'' riders in the group who are really inspiring others and riding good on their own.
and as u say theres a risk in going interstate meet....but what if a normal guy sees somany enthusiat riders and he gets some inspiration or some piece of advice from any other rider.....
this is how i feel from my side....no offence

Agreed at some point we were inexperinced but there are so many people on FB group are from the very long time in the group and still dont have riding gears as well as do not had riding experience also, in our case instead of being inexperienced we started learning the things from other experienced riders and we still do that, result from that is avoiding the crashes that about to happen , if the people do not ride then how they going to learn the art of safe riding. experience comes from riding no book can teach you untill you follow it in real life..

Siddharth let the people ride freely, let them enjoy the rides, do not try to avoid the people for the ride those who do not have riding experience but make sure tha there should be experience riders for the rides too , believe me it helps alot. i still remember the words from Old Fox sir, how to select the helmet, the things that he has said were superb, we even do not thinks what are the things to remember while choosing the perfect helmet, small things makes a huge difference.

        • Planning a TMU (Technical Meet UP) next Sunday (16th Dec) at G'nagar InfoCity.

The Topic of Discussion will be Chains, mainly how to clean and lube your bikes chain and general maintenance of the chain. Adjustment of Slack and also if need arises how to change it on your own.

Expecting maximum participation. I will be carrying Diesel, Chainlube and other tools needed to clean a chain, we will give a live demo and solve any queries anyone has.

We will also try our best to make a video of the event so that those members who due to some reason are unable to attend can atleast refer the video and clear off their doubts.

Wow. Such profound judgement ! Dude remember the first time you had a meet with the xbhpians in Gujarat ? What if we didn't want to invite you later cause we think that you are inexperienced ?
Everyone started out as a newbie, and as long as people listen to those who can actually teach a group how to ride in a group ride all should be fine. The basic rules of no idiocy and having riding gears of course is applied without fail. So anyway after much talks and discussion here's my take on the entire thing.

The interstate meet need very careful planning and absolute confirmation for it to happen as it involves parties from different locations. One cannot simply back out of it due to personal reasons other than health or family issues. The planning needs to start now for it to happen two months later. January is the month of exams where several members of xbhp-gujarat will be having exams (quite a lot of them are college students) It will be convenient if this meet was rescheduled to February first week. So currently we'll be having a discussion session tonight whether february is best suited or not. There are few office people like myself who are fine with anytime on a weekend in any month.

Ill list the names who are interested in this interstate ride so far. These riders have preference for the ride to happen in February and will confirm for the ride on for a weekend. The xBhp id's are written in brackets. Kindly update me your confirmation and xbhp ID for this ride. Also give in your time of preference for this ride (date / month or whatever suits you)

              Sudeep Chakraborty (xenologik) myself.
              Ayaz Mansuri (mansuryayas)
              Maitray Marfatia (maitray220)
              Sunny Panchal (sunnypanchal)
              Ashik Khan
              Prashant Soni (POS)
              Shardul Tare (shardul)
              Neil Oza (Neiloza)
              Akkshay Chada (akkshay chadha)

There will be a technical meet tonight, also will be there on several other days to discuss the venue from our side, kindly give in inputs on the venue from your side as well.

Well according to.me the perfect time would be in the month of feb let the people be free from their exams so we can have many people to come for the interstate ride. And one more advantage from this tide will be tha the newbiz would surly get to learn many things from the people from mumbai who have already set high standards of their riding..

                        • Alright guys here's the upcoming Greater Rann of Kutch ride scheduled for 22nd December. I will not be able to attend this ride since I will be in New Delhi from 18th to 28th December, however since I have already whole the whole of kutch in January 2012 here my inputs for this ride.

This is the complete routemap to cover almost everything near Rann of Kutch.
The plan is ideally 3 days which covers the following places.

                          Day 1

Ahmedabad - Bhuj - Kala Dungar - Indira Bridge - Dhordo White Desert - Bhuj

Total distance of 560 kms, roads are almost 100% excellent sparing the stretches at dhordo white desert (offroad sand, gravel like trail)

                          The schedule

Meet up at a selected place in Ahmedabad by 3:30 am.
Start from Ahmedabad at 4 am (start means riding off and not meeting up at 4am)
Anyone who doesn't show up by 4am will have to catch up with the group or go back, as they wish to.

Reach Bhuj by 10 am, have breakfast. There will be two-three stops of 5-10 mins only as resting breaks or photoshoots.
Minimum average speed required must be 65kmph. So riding speeds will be around 100-105kmph.

Tankup at bhuj, there are two good petrol pumps at the north side of bhuj (IOC and HPCL), head north towards Kala dungar via Khavda, take permits at Khavda.
Reach Kala dungar (north of bhuj) by 12pm.

                          Reach Indira bridge by 1pm

(the last allowed civilian point on the road heading towards pakistan border, permits for a large group will not be possible as one requires special permits from the BSF)

Reach Dhordo white desert by 2 pm.

                          Return to Bhuj by 6pm

tankup your bike, eat, sleep as there will be two more days of rides covering 300kms minimum.

                          End of Day 1.

                          Day 2

Now there can be two groups for this ride from Day 2 onwards.
Those who can't spare more than two days for this ride should return to Ahmedabad on the 2nd day can go via Dholavira and reach Ahmedabad by evening.

For those who have the time to ride on..

Bhuj- Kot Lakhpat- Narayan Sarovar - Mandvi

Total distance of 320 kms. There are very few fuel pumps along the route so tankup at bhuj itself. There are enough fuel pumps on the Narayan Sarovar - Mandvi highway SH46.

Head towards Kot Lakpat, starting off by 6am.
By 9 am reach Kot Lakhpat, spend half an hour there or max 1 hour and head towards Narayan Sarovar which is about 35 kms away.
By 11am reach Narayan Sarovar. Spend some more time there, have a light lunch. Start off by 1pm max.
By 4pm reach Mandvi. 4-6pm spend time on the mandvi beach.

NOTE : Prearrange hotel stay (Hotel Kutch Inn at Mandvi is an excellent place as it has ample parking space, not that expensive and great food.)

                          End of Day 2

                          Day 3
                          (Mandvi - Dholavira - Ahmedabad)
                          620 kms.

This plan will be very exhausting for people who haven't done long distances, so only after consultation dholavira will be made into a waypoint while returning back to Ahmedabad. Otherwise we can simply skip it.

Start off by 4-5am from Mandvi and head towards Dholavira. 280 kms approx.
11am-12pm Reach Dholavira and spend an hour max there.

Head towards Radhanpur tankup fuel wherever possible.

                          Return via Palanpur-Mehsana-Ahmedabad highway. By
                          6-7pm one should reach Ahmedabad.

End of day 3, end of ride.

I will continue to edit this post as the plan is improvised and more points and inputs are added.

Reach Dhordo white desert by 2 pm.

                              Return to Bhuj by 6pm

tankup your bike, eat, sleep as there will be two more days of rides covering 300kms minimum.

I will continue to edit this post as the plan is improvised and more points and inputs are added.
what would the tentative dates so we can manage the schedule and would be able to make present for the ride?
