GS Betta now opens only after 9-9.30AM. And there's usually a rush of tourists on weekends.

The charm of the place was catching the sunrise from the top, which is now lost with this 9AM rule.

This is also a good point; well thought & practical; I'm with this...too.

All I can say is take a decision fast!!! (pls don't start another poll )

BTW, what're the bikes that we're talking about here? I know there're 2 N650R, 1 ZMA, probably a black FZ, what're the others?

+ 1 Thunderbird, I'm still tentative..my leaves are yet to be approved.

BTW, I'm going on a trip/trek around Mudumalai, Masinagudi..etc.for 4 days next week. Planning to stay at a ranger's house(FREE ).

I can look out for accomodations there for us, if you have any plans to halt in/around Masinagudi.

Oops! I mean, *If We are to Stay in MettuPalayam*, Consider Kotagiri - It will be much cooler and cleaner.

And again, you guys will be riding through Wayanad and not seeing any place. Chembra Peak / Banasura would be the places to be seen within minimal time i guess. Muthanga / Edakkal / all other falls would take a lot of time and *may* get darker by time you hit masinagudi. So, Chalk out what needs to be seen in wayanad.

And last you could do is stay a day longer in Masinagudi (or where ever the gang stays on day 3) - take rest on day 4 and ride back the next day. Just watch out for the final plan - You never know

Yep - If my memory serves me right : We have : Ninja 650R + CBR 250R + ZMA R + Praveen's ST7 or Ninja 650R + R15's + Bullet 500 + FZ 16 + now the CBZ Extreme + few more.

So, the slow riders will have to catch up with the biggies / The Biggies will take frequent brakes every 50 /100 kilometers or so.

I referred GS Betta as well, some one pointed out that it is on the other end of Mysore highway. But the roads to the top is not in a good condition as well now.

Well, we need money to pay advance to the hotel booking& its already Oct 1st; unless we have the numbers in hand we cannot talk to people regarding the hotel accommodation & food; extending 1-2 days is fine after the said dates. We may need to specify how many veg & non-veg ppl are in the gang to the hotel guys too.

Personally I don't prefer going to the location & then search for hotel. I'd like to have a plan in place before we start.

I'm just back from an 8 day solo ride. I couldn't get any leaves in october,november... (for joining this group ride), so opted for a september solo ride instead....

I rode thru Masinagudi & have some idea about the current road conditions. I'm happy to share whatever information i know...

I did Chennai - Coimbatore - Mettupalayam - Ooty - Thalaikundha - Masinagudi - Theppakadu - Bandipur - Gudulpet - Mysore - Bangalore - Chennai.... (with lots of rest in between places...)

I was particularly apprehensive about the road conditions between Thalaikunda & Theppakadu, but it was pretty decent (good at some places)...Though really steep descent with lots of one-sided speed breakers etc.,

The weather conditions around Ooty-Pykara-Masinagudi etc., was dry... In fact, Mudumalai, masinagudi areas are pretty dry & warm...

However, count me in for the next ride. I have never been to a long ride in my TBTS and eager for one..

FYI.. Newbies are usually requested to attend G2G meets to get familiar with group and join any short rides to know riding ettiquette before they are considered for group rides.
