The Official Trivandrum Offline meet(G2G) thread

i am not too keen on the helmet ride. i dont think it is going to make any difference. even with fines in place people are not wearing helmets so will they change their minds seeing an awareness program?

If you are thinking of a short trip then why dont we can arrange a Helmet Awareness Programme within the Trivandrum city. Pune based Biker groups( Rubber rippers, Renegade Devilz and Torque Inducers) conducted the same progamme last year in their city and it was grant success! They combined and travel the whole city and halted some selected crowded area in side the city and issued awareness notices to the public for the need of Helmets in daily busy commuting. The media and Traffic authorities also joined with them.
SO FRIENDS WHY CAN'T WE??? After all we can give a message to the public on the Republic Day.
Merrits: 1.Ppl will understood that we are not a mere biker craps but with some social responsibilites to the common society.
2.chances of popularity with easy cost with the help of media & Traffic authorities.
3.Less expensive and more bikers can participate in the event.

4. Save time
Ths s what my Idea abt ths Republic Day Pls think.

I too like this concept. but I think we are short of time to organize such an important action since the day is too near. Maybe we can have a G2G this saturday to form an opinion on this matter and see how many are interested for a ride/helmet awareness and then finalize on it.

and NSS is conducting some Helmet awareness programme in city now a days with school children performing Dramas and all

Akil, yup... u r right! there is no use for fine by the police! PPL will ready to pay and do the same thing. Our aim is just leave a deep thought in public mind that Helmets are invitalble part for every biker's life. this idea here is absolutely possible...and i'm sure...the manorama(metro) people here will give a full support/coverage of the programme....we just need to mention out idea and plan to them...they could even sponsor pamphlets for the programme....it is surely doable...i had this kind of awareness ride in my mind from the time i joined xbhp...but someone said we need permissions from police authorities...and it was not that easy organising sumthing like this....main problem our city being the capital....so we need to really decide on something on this saturday g2g...
