  • I hope I'm not too late...

    --------------------
Do not endanger other motorists with rash driving and never provoke other motorists for a race. Prevent road rage - it not only endagers your life, but also lives of other road users. Ride safely and responsibly.

Stunting is a skillful activity but equally dangerous. It should be done only in a controlled environment, with proper safety gear and under supervison of experts. DO NOT stund in public roads.

Triple riding on a motor cycle and overloading in heavy vehicles is very dangerous and is an offence. Never exceed the capacity limit of the vehicle as it proves to be dangerous to all road users.

Do not cross the speed limits on public roads even in case of emergency, as it is dangerous to yourself as well as other road users. "Better late than never".

Additions in Quick Road Safety Tips:
    1. Maintain your vehicle in proper condition - do regular servicing, check air pressure in tyre etc.

    2. Avoid agressive driving/riding. Instead practise defensive driving/riding.
    -------------

Few modifications and two additional points that may be considered...

    • General Road Safety tips

      1. Belt up /Wear helmet before turning on the ignition key.

      2. Don't drink and drive.

      3. Always adhere to speed limits.

      4. Steer clear of erratic drivers. Let a tailgater pass you.

      5. Keep your eyes on the road all the time.

      6. Never use a cell phone while driving/riding.

7.Keep in mind that a distracted driver might also be near you. Drive cautiously.

      8. Don’t drive without rest/ when sleepy.

      9. When passing another vehicle, get past the driver’s blind spot as quickly and safely as possible.

      10. Keep your distances from the vehicle in front of you.

      11. Use the horn judiciously.

      12. Obeserve lane discipline.

      13. Control your emotions and never indulge in for road rage.
      14. Always stop the vehicle before the Zebra line.

I'm thinking of revamping Page 4 exclusviely with the above content. I've covered what was already in it, plus what Lijo has mentioned above and few additions. The page is still open for suggestion though.

@All: I have another suggestion to the looks of the phamplet. Removing the wheelchair and walking stick men from the background and put in Road signs as the background. Again, this is also open for discussion. I don't have photoshop at home else I would have been able to post a sample of what I have in mind.

Yes! jayan you snatched the idea from my mind It is good to avoid wheel chair and walking stick men...that is not a good sign instead put road signs as the background just that Megalaya safety campaign did.

Saw this thread earlier. The same thought crossed my mind a few times. But I feel we'll need to take a different approach to this - like submitting a request with the Traffic police - to enforce the rules better, with media (newspaper/newschannels) - to include such details. Maybe we can get hold of some prominent govt official (like Mayor) and convince them to make such details mandatory in police FIRs, news reporting from the city etc...

Yeah, lots of space in the inner page; dont mind repetitions, put one or two from the last page in there...

@Varun: Can you do the corrections as mentioned by Lijo? I don't think Sudeep will be aware of this mistakes if he can't access the thread.

I had sent these links to Sudeep, maybe you can add some contents to reduce the spacing also?!

I think it looks fine. Good Job Sudeep. The main idea is to give a awareness to the public on motorist and various safety measures they can take for it. I think this contents looks fine for it. Love the way the background is put... Anybody else wants to suggest anything on the design or content?!
