hi, and welcome to xbhp bro! congrats on your new ride..but i don't understand why you changed your oil at 250kms on the odo? the 1st change is only due by the 1st service atleast...and that too..the 220 needs 20w50 instead of 20w40. now i guess you can run with the present oil til your 1st service and then get it changed to 20w50, you can find it at oil shops at pongumoodu or at chenthitta(ex-jawan oil lubes)

about the autochoke, even the SC guys doesn't know much about it..you can check it yourself...there's a red plug underneath the front seat..there shouldn't be a problem with the autochoke for the newer lot of the 220s..cause it was rectified long back...just ignore it..
air pressure is printed on the sticker on the rear left swingarm of the bike(chainside). nitrogen is better...but normal aint bad either...

I change engin oil because (with some googling) i came to know that its very good for a new engine to change oil between 100-200 kms since most sludge or metal particles due to seasoning will be accumulate by that time. But i was totaly unware of that 20w40 and 20w50 are totally to diffent oil, but i have tried to find 20w50 but failed . And the shop owner told me W40 is good for p220

Is it really harmful for my bike to run wiht 20w40, but i have cross checked with a SC guy who said its okay to use 20w40 but 20w50 is better than w40.

BUT I DONT THINK I CAN BELIEVE SC GUYS BCOZ THEY DONT KNOW ANY THING.

could u please add more color on this, since i am only riding 10-20 kms daily from vettukadu to plamoodu, pattom. should i really need to change it asap.

hey..there's nothing to get all worked up about...its not very serious a matter...20w40 and 20w50 are not two totally different oils..The "W" after the first set of numbers stands for winter. The lower the number, the lower the actual air temperature can be and still effectivly lubricate the engine. The second number is the oils viscosity. The higher this number is, the higher the air temperature can be and the oil can withstand without breaking down prematurely. so for indian conditions...either 50 or 40 will do for our rides..but the optimum is 20w50...20w40 isn't going to harm the engine life or performance by a big margin or anything...so take it easy...you can wait until your 1st service...try getting a semisynth oil from outside instead of sticking onto the bajaj dtsi bullshit oil..i use valvoline 4tpremium from 15k kms and till now i think it has given me the best results...my ride has clocked 22.8k kms now.. hope this clears your doubt...

Run is actually 1000kays, of which 200 completed. Will run it like this for another two weeks and move on
