i absolutely love this kinda air brush graphics. this one or some sexy hawt lady seen in some helmets would be nice if you do it in your tank.dont go for complete makeover as it wont suit the old school classic RX...make it simple on the outside. But make sure, it is not so accident prone .

can you give an intro about yourself here, what you are doing and from where . nice pics there but make sure you ride to ponmudi with atleast a helmet and jeans and not shorts !! i have had a small fall on one of the hairpins, though the speed was small, nothin hapened but jeans took the impact. those roads are so provoking all the way up and its better to play safe.Since i joined xbhp, had gone there atleast 15 times in last 2 years !!!

Am Basically from Chengannur!But studied in Mar Baselios,Nalanchira!Now sitting at home and doin some touring!I was wearing the helmet all the way.I took it off to take that one pic only!But ya,i shud have wore a jeans!The only jeans that i brought to tvm got soaked in rain due to the previous days shower!So was left wit that shorts!That was stupid from my part,i knw!

@ Jayan - RXs are different breed and we must keep those machines like classic machines. I dont think any kind of graphics and make over stuff do suit RXs ... Keep it same and simple... New generation guys should always envy us... and they will do so... I still remember the day when I got my RX from Hilton... So proud and that feeling never did felt the same when I got P220.... RX rocks........

The bike has been sporting this colour scheme for 4 years and few months...
I know Binoy will be tempted to mention a particular sticker on it. Yes, on the rear mud-flap it says, "Cars Suck."

I just went to Vihaan Honda in Thane for a test-ride. They have a dedicated test-ride bike (not for delivery...I hope) according to the sales lady there. I rode there on the MT-01 for shock and awe effect and it worked

Threw them the MT-01 keys...told them I only ride alone and took the bike out for a short but sweet test ride.

First impressions:

1. The bike is about the same size as the Karizma but due to the low bars it feels shorter and smaller. Decent enough for tall riders and I am as tall as they come at 6'3".

2. Not as POWERFUL as I expected. The Ninja when properly ridden will show a clean pair of heels to the CBR -BUT- allow me to change this impression of mine because this bike was pretty new and not yet run-in. Maybe with 2-3000 kms on the ODO it might smoothen up and open up some more. Think of it as a fast ZMA and not as your first superbike...I've ridden P220s and R15s that had a bit more *ZIP* than the CBR.

3. Clutch is light but there is NO TORQUE down low (pulling away from the stops). Felt identical to the Ducati Monster 796 in the way you had to give it some slip before it caught and went. This could be a problem if I take the bike to Ladakh because slipping the clutch when you are in the middle of nowhere can lead to tears! (the kind that comes out of your eye...)

4. Brakes - GOOD! This was the C-ABS model

5. Suspension - GOOD! Just like a good 600cc superbike. Firm without being harsh. The road they asked me to ride on was pretty awful but on decent tarmac it should be a joyful experience.

6. Handling - a bit too "quick" for my taste. If the terms oversteer and understeer are applicable here then it oversteers. The ZMA was quick to steer...R15 much more controlled. This is somewhere in between but still too quick. It loses the "big bike" feel because of this. I think this is due to steering geometry and narrow tires. The rear tire is nice and meaty for a bike this size but the front tire feels too thin. I think aftermarket tires are a must on this bike to make the most of it.

7. Seats - comfy. Firm without sag. Will be a boon over a long ride.

8. Instrument panel - looks good but I found it a bit distracting in the night because it is quite bright. Not sure if there is any way to dim the panel brightness.

I looked all over for paint defects and I must tell you that there were none (this was the BLACK bike). Panels look alright even if quality is perhaps a couple of steps below the Ninja and maybe 1 step below the R15 which I rate very highly when it comes to build quality.

I still think the R15 is the better bike simply for the way it FEELS when you ride it. It absolutely feels like a track machine. Very precise and predictable...almost like a Ariel Atom to the CBR250R's Dodge Charger.

Is it worth the money? Unlike some of you who probably get carried away by the illusion of big-biking, I don't think this is a BIG-BIKE killer. I don't think it is worth the asking price...at best I would have put the pin on 1.3L for the non-ABS and 1.5 for the ABS. So the pricing is off by 30k for the non-ABS and 40k for the ABS model...

Are there any choices in the market at this price? - NO...

Should a P220/R15 rider feel the desperate need to upgrade? - NO...

Doing 150+ on a bike like this would feel scary...on an MT01 or R1 it feels slow, controlled and safe. I did 100 on one stretch and I didn't quite feel like the bike was entirely in my hands.

So buy the bike - but ride safe...speed kills!

Well, thats the ultimate biking guru's take on the cbr , coming from one of the most experienced super/biker i ve seen. I had shared a motoroids link for you in facebook, have you seen it? it said it had ample torque even in top gears to climb a gradient, but after looking at this completely condradicting statements,i also think its not that worth completely and waiting for the yammy's new launch would be more appropriate. From an FZ, it would be sea change for you to upgrade to this, but the handling post 100kmph for your thrissur runs would be a bit disappointing as per guru's review.But you are riding in kerala roads only and not NH7, so it may not matter much, and would give you the satisfaction of an SBK owner and will be a head turner everywhere for sure .I think a joelled zma or even R15 would kill the cbr anytime !Binoy chetta, share this news with sreenath chettan too, as he was also looking at this option only. Since you are going to take the bike only post may, just wait for a test ride and dont cancel the booking. praveen is taking it first right, you ll get a better review then , lots of reviews and xbhp's review will also come up in a few days time from some of the experienced riders for sure.

Yes i am not cancelling the booking coz i am planning to buy in July only, praveen also buying it in July. I need a TD badly to decide whether to buy or not.
Every review which i read has the +ve factor only. as per guru 100+kmph makes the bike out of the hands makes me more sad and wondering, coz even my FZ is very good in handling at any speed which she can maintain, seriously, when we touched the NH7 and i hit 122 on the odo, i didn't feel any handling issues. Yammy rocks in that matter
i need to really rethink on this coz i am saving almost 75-80% of salary from last couple of months for this bike and living like a beggar. I have cut many long rides for this matter. i don't want to get a souped up ZMA for this price.
From where do i get a TD is the main probs. these suckers(showroom guys) won't give, am sure...
