Just a small advice/recommendation. if you guys are using FB Likes as a poll.pls stop pressing everyone in your friends list to go and like.More than often usually the shittiest photo ends up getting the most "likes" due to this.

so how do we plan to find out the winner? In a thread each person can post their photos, then using comments, quoting the pic n number of times... not very much practical.Originally posted by milancherian View PostPlacebo annan talked about two possible themes-the wagamon ride & diwali! More on this after the thread has been approved!
Am not too keen on deciding the winner via fb.We will see our possible options and then fix on one!
In FB, the xbhp Kerala group, which is a closed group, we can create an album each month. Each entry can be added to it by the members. Only members can like the photos. And yes, like Ranjith said, no canvasing for getting more likes.
sir, how much is 'slightly'?Originally posted by placebo View PostFirst of welcoming all trivandrum photographers to the photography contest...!!!

Its a relative word. People like Noel (no offence meant) will be expert in post processing. So one modification by them can change the pic a lot. That is why I suggested no modification/enhancements. I'm personally very much for post processing a photo. But in the event of a competition, preventing any post processing will encourage people to be more creative, think creatively...

Even I have the same opinion, no editing should be done to the pic. That's a better shot!!! Leaving the finally decision to the majority for it.Originally posted by lijok View Postsir, how much is 'slightly'?

Why not allow Slight editing?adjust contrast and brightness a little, crop the photo etc.A large edit will result in Disqualification!I say because I have seen that most of the photography contests elsewhere allow Slight editing.Like I said earlier,if we find that the entry to highly edited,it will be DQ'ed!

Lijo.. Even though we select a pic which is edited to a large extend.. we are asking the originals to compare it with the post.
So if we see huge differences then we disqualify that entry.
I think thats not a big issue.
I have a plan in mind.. we will form a selection comitee or an advisory comitee.
We say that the comittee will have a scrutiny and say 10 or 25 pics for a month and its the sole discreation of the comitte to select the pics and we no each pic.The pics will not be having the title whom have taken it & where. The pic will be only holding a no to it side.. and we will be looking on the poll among the members only.
Also why 10 or 25 pics we already have a30 40 poeples and 2 entries each will be a misserable one to select i think.
After the last date we will see which pic has got the most no of votes and we request the motoprapher to provide us with the originals in 3 days time.
Again the panel will sit together to see upto what extend the pic has been editted and finalise the winner with his Photo, Name of the photographer & Place taken.
What say all.. ??? Suggestions welcomed. It's not about the Bike: Its my journey towards Life

I guess my points are not being expressed clearly. Here is another shot at it
My aim is to keep it simple - for people submitting the photos, for selecting the winner.
a) For people submitting the photos:
1)No post processing, people dont have to worry about what software to use, how to do it etc
2) In an FB group album, any member can come and add pic (AFAIK).
b) For selecting the winner
1) No need of selecting committee and related discontent (always bound to happen)
2) No of likes can be used as vote
I'm happy to go with the majority decision though

Come on Lijo boss... I can do some tricks in pics in post processing. But when it comes to contest level, we need to go to base level. I suggest no photoshop touch and stuff should be done on pics which is meant for contest.

doesn't he hate post processing?
ideally post processing should be allowed and not editing
adjust contrast/brightness,convert to GS.that should be it.

Sree@Ranjith --- you said right. Do hate the post processing but have to use those for work purpose. Crop, cut, levels, sharp only..... Not to heavy modeOriginally posted by RanjithMN View Post
