      I agree. It's just that whenever I have been on the road there have been several occasions where I have been offered help by total strangers and hence I feel comfortable about extending my help in the same manner. But like you said only a larger group would be able to come to conscience on this matter after discussing all pros/cons

        If the numbers go public, many will have access to it, even google will find it easily... some of them may be interested in using these numbers for spamming us with ads or other stuffs...
        If the numbers are not public, only the responsible members can access it....

                Don't worry, most are just scared of making numbers public. And these days, it really is not safe.
                but now with the offline section visible only to members, more should come forward (i hope so)
