Re: [Planning] - Isn't it time for another ISG2G

I like this thread... never ever been to an ISG2G, or experienced its ideation/discussions from the inside, so really looking forward for a congregation...

Cheers and thanks all for planning.

Since this is the time for KL to host this and talks are coming up for a beach ISG2G, so i would like to suggest Muzhappilangad..immense stretch of drive in beach, immense fun i would say!

Idukki is OK. Wagamon doesn't have a good reasonable resorts. All are premium ones.

We can have stay in kuttikannam if we choose vagamon, nelliyampathi has limited stay options

One cent of suggestion from my side, how about Idukki or better be Thodupuzha, rather being more specific Kulamavu.
From Thodupuzha this village on hill top is Kulamavu, 16km, with 12 delightful hairpins and fantastic views.

If the suggestions for beach G2G is there then Muzhappilangad is the best choice but other than open stretch of Sea shore their is nothing more(only a viable option for day ride).
And also have to stuck in the busy traffic of Thalaserry which is very irritating and dangerous too.
How about Kovalam or Kannur??? good place, nice food, nice roads and good beaches, but cant ride on beach.

But isnt it too early to have a ISG2G, I mean its mere 5 months and still it will take one month to plan and finalise things, by that time weather will change a lot and heat will take on its toll on us more.

We missed the stretch from Muttom - Painavu - Kulamavu - Kothamangalam during our 4 day ride to Western Ghats this month due to lack of time. From what I've been told, yes, you're absolutely right, this is not to be a missed stretch. And with members pouring in suggestions like Kuttikanam & Idukki, they're all good options too.

Or for a change, this year, can we stay somewhere accommodation is feasible etc & then have ONE DAY ride (not more than 100 Km though) through the scenic? What I mean is, If Vagamon has expensive accommodation, then we can find somewhere close to Vagamon & then ride through.

What's "mere 5 months"? And what does that denote? Weather changes in KL after end March & beginning June. Yes, by the time we have the ISG2G it will be around April, which is, 8 months since the last ISG2G.

BTW, @Swas & other KL guys - Best option is, simply fix up a place where we (as organizers) can work out things & then it's up to TN, CBE & KA guys to ride. Like we keep saying, it's not the ride this time, but, meeting the face behind the ID's & strengthening the biking brotherhood is all matters

Ganeshji, I was planning about starting this thread two weeks back, thought it might be early. Since its 5th anniversary I have some plan. We need to time this perfectly so that we can make it epic. This time I guess I am in time

Soooper ji super Great minds think alike

Yes, we have to make this a good one this time, like we all agree, it's 5th anniversary, yes, we have to make it grand. Still I would say...you guys fix up a place & say "we're hosting here" & we'll all ride there; until then this will keep dragging like this forever & ever!!! Not to mention, now we will be having a poll for month followed by week & what not.

BTW, we all need to talk, you, me, Sri, Karthik, Ram, Swas...and...the gang leader of the big gang from KA!! They're are no where to be seen here

PS - Looks like some issue with xBhp; all the posts are automatically getting posted twice!! @monk bhai, @sunilgee...listening?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                      THE END

Sorry for joining the party late. Good initiative @argee .
For whoever suggesting the places for the meet:
                          1. Make sure you suggest a place which is almost eqvidistant from atleast 2 or 3 main cities, so that it doesn't fall under a day full of back breaking riding.
                          2. Most importantly, as far as possible Suggest places which you have already been to, so that you would have an idea about the possibility of finding an accommodation at a reasonable rate. Also knowing the road conditions will help us in planning accordingly. If not , any tom dick and harry can suggest places after spending an hour on the internet.
3 . Since we would be having students also joining in, kindly refrain from suggesting luxury spas and resorts. It takes a lot of effort to meet the expectations of everybody.

                          4. Last but not the least, my suggestion , lets leave this to the KL folks who have kms of experience in organizing this for quite sometime now .

Completely agree with Phanikar - let the KL folks take a call on the destination and the TN folks are always welcome to stayover at our respective places in Blore (in-case of a long ride)..
