To aisa bolo naa! What you need is a 35w/55w H4 HID. It will be pricey, but it won't overload the electricals or discharge battery or anything of that sort so it eventually works out cheaper (since you don't ruin your vehicle's electricals and hence its reliability). The illumination from the 35w HID is noticeably higher than your regular 55w stock halogen bulb so I need not say anything more about the 55w HIDs.

There is a member called Navnish from Bangalore who can provide you what you want as per your requirement. Many people here have bought HIDs (Sharan, Shrinath are people who come to mind) from him.

That' s great. I shall ask Shrinath about it. I really don't think that a straight swap of a 100/90 into the bike will be correct; the plastic headlamp cover heats up a lot and so does the stock wiring. Umm, an H4 HID just might do the trick.

maneesh : Is ur headlight 55/60 Watt? if yes try the osram night breaker as thats one of the best bulbs ever. Seen in lot of touring bullets and some pulsars too and they are really mazing. Since R15 doesnt support it directly unless some relay mods are done so i kept it out. But if your setup supports it than go for it. One single bulb costs you around 700-900 and look for Made in Germany only. we have our @satyen poojary who can give more inputs on the same bulbs.

Yes, my HL bulb is a 60/55 with a standard H4 connector. I am burnin' to fit the German-made 100/90 which my Indigo and Dzire had (forget the brand, damn good) but that will just fry the cover and the wiring and the battery

BTW, there was some discussion earlier about mails received from Rider Zone, Pune. I spoke with the guy and he said that he had got data from xBhp. He also said that he would be making available Original () Alpinestars riding pants at Rs.3,500 & LS2 Riding Jackets from 22nd onwards. He has 5-6 varieties of knee guards available.

5 or more guys purchasing goods together will be entitled to get discounts. Mention DP price to him in case of 5+ quantity of purchase.

Original ridin pants for 3500 /-. Hope he sells original, lets wait and see what he brings and compare the quality with what DSG sells.

@maneesh - i spoke with navneesh and he told me he has 40 w angel eyes projector setup where he is selling the set of 2 projector lights for 9k + some courier costing, thought earlier it was sold separately and each projector with with full set was going at 6500/+. He has a 55/60 W projector too which will be available soon, so i would tell you to check with him too before burning the wires.

That is how I have been adjusting headlights on all my two and four wheelers over the years, with one small, critical twist in the interests of my safety. I elevate the high beam to about 1 foot above parallel of the road. This way, I see the road ahead in full glory PLUS it hits the oncoming traffic right in the eyes for those crucial seconds when the pain of constricting irises strained beyond their ability to do so any further motivates driver of said oncoming traffic to dip HIS beams rather than forcing ME to dip MY beams. The moment he flashes (his headlight beams, you dirty boy), I dip mine too so that the moment we pass each other, we are back to highs and cruising at triple digits. By this tech, I engender mutual respect for each other. Something on the lines of the Cold War MAD.

I taught my drivers in the Mech Transport Platoon to do this and then they were very happy during long convoy duties. The correct way for headlight adjustment is actually left slightly higher and left and right slightly lower, something similar to the eyes that some cartoon characters make in Ninja Hattori and Shaun The Sheep

The 1998 Zen VXi - Junked the stock 60/55 bulbs and put in 100/90s with special heavy duty wiring and relays.

The 2003 Indigo Diesel - ditto, just uprated to 110/100s

The 2010 Dzire Diesel - dittoo. All the above jobs were done by Bafna Autos, Ghole Road. Oversmart, expensive, upstart name-dropper but does a good job.

The issue is that no matter how precisely I adjust the elevation/depression on the CBR (and the bevel gear adjustment mech does allow quite fine adjustments), the sheer power is lacking for ME as I am used to 100/90s or 110/100s for what, 14 years now. And as my wife drives at night too, she has also got used to the battery guzzling white swathe of light, illuminating the road for the better part of 150 mts ahead.

So, I correct myself here by saying that the CBR's bulb is fine; it is that MY personal requirements demand higher luminescence. Do you have any recommendations about the change?

I plan to fit the Osram Nightbreaker bulb. As and when I get the Bonnie, I shall fit an HID to it - it is infinitely more compatible with tinkering so I can do the work myself. Kya yaar, one cannot even see the engine in a CBR (not that it is a pretty sight anyways, yet...)

You may have decided on PSDs but sadly Indian Govt does not agree with you. PSD being non ISI are out of stock in Pune at least for CBR size i.e. 140.

Hello all, I had been out for some work in KP last night, on the way back got a flat front tire, to my notice an half inch nail... Now here is the fun part. In the line of Jehangir Hospital (Diagonal to Crossword) there is a puncture guy who offers 24hrs service, nice chap, it was around 11.45pm and got this nail removed. He charges Rs70 for two wheeler and Rs90 for four wheeler puncture. Hope this information helps to those going for rides early morning or experiencing punctures after a wonderful fully paid date :P
