Guys -

Planning to do either of these routes between 15th - 18th August.

Any advice, updates on road conditions etc are welcome. The routes are non-standard routes, as I have been itching to do some exploring of late.
Might not be the best season to do so, but still would risk it.

There is a high probability that this ride would comprise of a lot of wannabes or novince riders. If managed well, it might not be a problem. But the time schedule wont be followed. Plus the lucky draw forms is clearly something they are doing to collect the details of potential customers (which if used properly shoudnt be an issue). So i am not very keen about joining this ride.


The ride through the city can have the following route :

Meetup at Chandni Chowk at 6:40 - Departure by 7 - Then ride via Bavdhan to Aundh and stop at greenpark and move ahead to highway - enter warje - karve road - stop at Kothrud McDonalds - sinhagad road via rajaram - deccan via dandekar pool - FC road, with a stop ahead of FC maingate - via RTO road to phoenix marketcity - Koregaon park - camp, east street road - U turn to MG road - return to decaan, JM road - head up straight to FC road and then to SB road - then Law college road to grubshup. We can have breakfast at the end (Grubshup/roopali etc), accordingly changing the end point.

We should be able to finish the ride by 10-10:30am (without breakfast).

EDIT : The highway part has been included on purpose, to warm up the riders, as the rest of the ride through the city would be a slow one.

It is around 30 km and should take max 1.5 hour. There would not be stopping enroute. No slogan shouting. No antics (applicable to all except Ishan).

I have ended this ride on FC road because on 15th August most of the restaurants will be closed. I know for sure that Roopali would be open so if anyone wishes to have breakfast / treat everyone else, the option is open. This is not part of the ride though.

Unless there are more than 10-12 riders, there is no point in holding this ride. So please post your confirmations. Since this is just 3 days to the ride, I have not put in the category of tentative riders.

While any ride idea is good, I would like to differ on this ride idea. We do see a lot of hooligans line up their two wheelers, ride in the city, disrupt the regular traffic flow, cause inconvenience to others and not to mention, burn up fuel riding in the city where no pleasure is derived.

Why not do something different this time? xBhp had earlier taken up an activity of planting saplings at the Chatursringi hills. The activity was fun filled and satisfying. I feel that if all converge at a point and go together to help out the plantation, it would be a better idea. A breakfast at Grubshup or Roopali will follow this activity. Let the Pune chapter represent a change. Just my two cents (paise)...

The only question that hits me is regarding the end objective of the group ride. End of it, riding through the city is something that you do everyday

Anyway, let's have a poll or maybe Vishwas can pitch in with his thoughts. I'm confirmed for whichever activity is decided for 15th August.

1. This will be a disciplined ride with no hooligans in sight (except may be Ishan ;-) )
2. Since the ride is at 7 am till max 8.30 am on a national holiday, there would not be any traffic disruption/jam.
3. You are right about burning up fuel for a ride inside city and I wholly agree with you. However, this ride has been initiated on request of several others.

We require police permission for holding a rally. We are not holding a rally. . . there are no posters . . . no slogans . . . no loud speakers. We will just be riding through the city and for riding through the city, permission is not required.

I had a word with Hemant right now, flags are dispatched over the weekend, will reach by tomorrow evening. 1 Flag accommodates 15 signatures, 3 are couriered.

I thought general ride might require permission too. Roadshakers are also organizing the same flag thingy ride in the city, I have clearly mention to Hemant (Sunny's representative) that we will not be grouping with Roadshakers. Stick to the group during the ride, we are not part of Roadshakers or any other riding group.

guys.. i would like to come to sign the flag, although whether or not i can participate in ride is still unsure as normally i ride out with my wife on holidays.

i have never attended any G2G or rides in xbhp...and i have met only a few till now. beter late than never.
