Ride safe guys, will be on a ride to smilestone tomorrow as well. Might cross.Originally posted by kuntalnag View PostWe are not that frequent to this road beyond SmileStone Cafe, so not sure about the traffic condition though as per info the roads are pretty good.
We maintain speed of around 100-120 kmph on empty roads(with almost zero traffic i.e. in the early morning).
As time passes by, it obviously decreases. But not too slow as we'll be covering 500+ kms in a day.
P.S. We ride R15 not R1
, so speed should NOT be concern for anyone
.
Feel free to join(with proper riding gears and documents).Ride On,
Akshat

I want to buy gloves and knee gaurds...
1. Do they come in different types? if yes, which type should i opt for(in both)?
2. Are there any comfort issues?
3. Where do i get good stuff at reasonable prices? Dont want to go to probiker, camp. How is Laxmi Auto on JM road?
4. What would the approx. cost be?
5. I aint planning to buy a jacket soon. I usually wear my sweatshirt during rides. Is this fine? or would you suggest buying some more protection gear? (I know that the jacket comes with padding for shoulder, back and elbows). If yes, then what type?
Recently i checked out knee gaurds and gloves from FOX. Please also suggest any specific company/brands? Thanks in advancesigpic

1. Do they come in different types? if yes, which type should i opt for(in both)?
-- Yes , depends on cost , quality & comfort. I have used DSG Primal & it was served me good. DSG & Cramster were the two major stake holders for buying riding gear out here in pune. There is probiker too. Knee guards are basically of two types - Bionic & Non Bionic .I prefer bionic knee guards by.
2. Are there any comfort issues?
-- At first you will feel a bit weird , but once you get used to it : it just starts feeling normal .
3. Where do i get good stuff at reasonable prices? Dont want to go to probiker, camp. How is Laxmi Auto on JM road?
-- No clue about laxmi auto . DSG - Camp & Cramster - Karve Road are two destinations you can check out.
4. What would the approx. cost be?
-- Gloves : Appx 1000 - 2000
Knee Guard : Appx 1500 - 5000
Jacket : Appx 3500 - 12000 +
5. I aint planning to buy a jacket soon. I usually wear my sweatshirt during rides. Is this fine? or would you suggest buying some more protection gear? (I know that the jacket comes with padding for shoulder, back and elbows). If yes, then what type?
-- Sweatshirt is not something that will replace a riding jacket. Always advisable to buy a proper riding jacket & till that you can borrow additional elbow guards from someone you know. But that's not a work around for all the time.
Recently i checked out knee gaurds and gloves from FOX. Please also suggest any specific company/brands? Thanks in advance
-- Some good & affordable brand
Jacket & Gloves - DSG , Cramster , Scoyoco
Knee Guards - I got an A* second hand sparingly used from one of our forum members. You can try A* (super comfortable) . I do not have much idea about other brands for knee guards.
