Some ideas to throw around about the dhaba G2G with regard to Vishwas' and antz' daroo vs non-daroo dhaba G2G.
Even I like to have a couple of drinks at a party. We were some 4 bachelors in the unit at one time in the early Nineties, of which two, including me, were ultra fond of their drinks. So, after the party, both of us nicely high, the other two used to take us home as pillions on their bikes. Of course, neither of us used to be so wasted as to be unable to ride pillion.
After I got married, we, as a couple had a deal. My wife does not drink hard alcohol, a glass of wine or champagne at max and that too within a close, intimate circle of friends. So, the moment I used to park the car at the party venue, I used to hand over the keys to her. There was simply no issue of perceived injury to the male ego at all. Then, I could guzzle a gallon and walk backwards or my head for all she could care. She would speak very calmly, sweetly and get me into the car and drive us home safely. No fights, no arguments (do you think I am too drunk to drive a stupid car etc etc). I enjoyed my tippling and she enjoyed my singing and dancing and the feeling of safety. We still follow this model. In fact, it has become a bit of a joke among my brother officers as, at a "wet" party, they invariably ask me " where are the car keys, kya joroo ka ghulam hai yeh" etc etc. And now, my daughter reminds me, after the car is parked, to give the keys to her mom.
So, can we think of an option where the tipplers are brought to the venue by the non-tipplers on bikes/in cars? At a G2G, dhaba or non-dhaba, the basic essence is to meet and have fun. Is it abso necessary for all of us to be on bikes, especially at dhaba G2Gs where Vishwas and I cannot do some authentic "shram parihaar"
We can plot the residential proximity of daroo vs non-daroo guys and form pairs to come for the dhaba G2G. That way, all are safe, wives and kids are happy and all eez wael.
