Hello Mates,

I hail from Pune & am not a very active member of x-bhp(or any other site) due to Odd office timings
Need you people's help for a ride.
I am planning to ride from Pune to Bangalore & then to Hassan(will this be shorter distance or is there any alternate way to Hassan?).
Need your inputs on road conditions & best routes to take.
Never been to Karnataka before, had been to Hubli but that was long time back.
Also would like to know if anybody here from Malnad College of Engineering in Hassan?? If yes, please PM me need some info from you

Hey , I am an MCE Alumini 09 batch from Mechanical engineering . The best route for hassan would be

Pune - Belgaum - Hubli - Sira Bypass -SH84 - Bellur cross - channraypatna - hassan.

We had done pune to sira by pass in almost 9.5 hrs. Though we were driving & we drove almost non stop except for the fuel break in hubli .
If you leave pune by early morning 4:30 , you should be able to make it hassan for dinner at Al Taj Or Gate

While returning from our south india tour , we had used this route. ALAS I went to hassan but the route is good . THe only concern is usually karnataka style speed breakers.

Ride to Lonavala, Khopoli & return

Plan is to ride till Khopoli, climb the ghats and end up at RK's, Lonavala for breakfast.
(Expected running - 140 km round trip - from Hinjewadi flyover)

This will not be a rip-fest but the ride would be around 100+ kmph speeds.

Need some volunteers as overall tail. Urvashi has volunteered for that but since she will leave the ride at khopoli and proceed towards Mumbai, we need to assign another overall tail. Siddharth Gupta had volunteered as overall tail on last smile stone ride so it would not be fair to assign him this job.

As usual, all mandatory safety gear and documentation mentioned in the first post of this thread is required. (knee guards will be checked by kicking your knees with riding boots) ;-

All riders are requested to kindly top up fuel and air on Saturday. There won't be any halts for re-fueling

Firstly, Akshat Sharma and nastrofaction are the same guys.
And I am still tentative based upon, what time we should be back to Pune/Wakad ?
Or if any member is interested in returning back by 11.00 at max.

There were 3-4 Ninja 250s and 2 Ninja 650, 1 GT 650, couple of Duke and several other bikes. Some Ninja owners decided to join and leave midway.

There were 3-4 Ninja 250s and 2 Ninja 650, 1 GT 650, couple of Duke and several other bikes. Some Ninja owners decided to join and leave midway.

No I was not leading. I was just ahead of others ;-)

several other bikes? no there were 3 R15's as well and several other bikes :P
