They have comprehensive inventory of MRF tyres. Not sure about other manufacture. Get their number from Just Dial and call them up.

Hi xbhpians,

A bunch of us from Blore have planned a Pune ride on first week of Oct. We were thinking on reaching Satara on Day 1 & covering Kaas, thoseghar falls (do we have to trek here?), tapola & mahabaleshwar on the next day, are these four places too much for a single day?

And can you please recommend decent accomodation near Satara & also in Pune/Lavasa area?? Would really appreciate any help from you guys.

I've always wanted to join the G2G's but due to heavy traffic (I live in KP) its difficult to reach at that time after work, as G2G's happen same time and same place (Law College Road), always.
Same time is not an issue as it's after work hours. But same place is a real deal breaker.

Why not change the place of G2G every week ?? Choose 4 different points in the city, and have a G2G at a point every week.

This has been discussed exhaustively in the past. There was a poll conducted asking members to choose preferred area and day of the week to hold G2G. Current G2G format has been finalised as per result of that poll.

We are always on the lookout for a new place to hang out. Please find a place with place for 10-12 bike parking, ability to sit for 3-4 hours without ordering anything much (our average group bill works out to 5-700) and suggest it here. I am sure members would leap at the idea of a new place for G2G.

Hi Adarsh, riding all the way from Bangalore and exploring all four places in a single day is gonna be extremely tiring. I'm not even getting the feasibility part in the picture. The road is extremely bad starting a few kilometers before Satara all the way to Pune. It would be a better idea to plan this on 2-3 different days.

Regarding accomodation, would request regulars from Pune to chip in with thier inputs please.

Day 6 - To Bangalore

So our main concern was how much we can cover in day 2. Do we need more than a day to cover all the places around the Satara/Mahabaleshwar/Kaas area? And are bikes banned at Lavasa?

Sad to know that the roads are bad from Satara to Pune, hope the ghat roads & twisties are fine?

Additionally, if that day happens to be a weekend, expect a lot of traffic in and out on the NH4. If you are interested in spending time at Mahableshwar, suggest that you arrive at Mahableshwar late in the evening, hit the bunk there and loitter around in the morning and ride to Lavasa sometime in the afternoon. Bikes are not banned at Lavasa till the gate. A few nasty incidents left the Lavasa guards with no choice but to block bikers from entering Lavasa city. However, I was told that this has now been taken care of and bikers were seen going into the city.

According to our current plans, we reach satara on oct 1st and do mahabaleshwar on oct 2nd (wed), but now I guess tourist rush would be high since it is a holiday. So we are considering to do this later on thu or fri.
We will mostly ride upto lavasa town and back since we were hearing a lot about the roads leading to the place

To add up to what NV sir mentioned... All depends on what you want to do at these places... I mean do you want to be tourists there? Then it would take a lot of time.
As per your plan you plan to do Kaas and Thoseghar on 2nd which is a pubic holiday, so expect a lot of traffic there. Also if you want to do the Thoseghar windmills remember that the roads are pretty bad once you enter the windmill farms. Best is to start early and cover Kaas early morning to avoid the crowd and then head to Thoaesghar and then take the Satara-Mahabi highway to Mahabaleshwar (In case if you are still planning to do it)

How was the ride buddy? I was looking fwd to your company on dhom dam ride. Heard there was some rash riding involved during that ride especially by the ninja group.

the ride was nice, and enjoyable, but there are some bad patches on the highway.

no buddy, there was no rash riding on dhom dam ride, maybe my discussion on fb was interpreted like that by others. i just mentioned what i felt, may be because that was my first ride with xbhp pune guys.

i felt the guys were taking too many risks just to keep up with the guy ahead of him. so i mentioned it. actually i know discussing it online may be interpreted differently by different ppl, so i was not willing to discuss it online, i just mentioned that i wanted to discuss something, but in the end, i had to...

anyway, let me clear once again, everybody involved in the ride are good riders and there was no rash riding.
