About 12-15kms further from Kas, the road winds down to a small village called Bamnoli - on backwaters of koyna dam. You can enjoy boating facility there.Kaas lake is near satara off NH4. it is about 25 km from satara on bamnoli road.

Apparently, we missed the rare flower blossom. The flowers mark their attendance once in seven years and it was in September/October 2009 that they were last seen.

                • Todays G2G was a success

Thanks to the measures taken by NV, Sagar, Ritwik and others... Everyone was sporting atleast a bare bone Riding gear... kudos for this... and for everyone who took initiative..

It was a after a long time I was attending any long rides and G2G. Thanks to my work.. which has usually kept me away from biking. most of the guys were there spot on... by 5.30 am... (Me being the first one to arrive as I was excited enough..)

I will not be posting much details.. as the pics which will be posted by xbhpians will speak thousand words..

But let me put forward a thought on something which I noticed. The pune G2Gs are very organized now.. the bikers are now seasoned and mature. From making it mandatory to have protection.. to promote SAFE BIKING... to checking all the necessary docs of bike.. to keeping the Emergency contact number of all the bikers handy... fantastic guys...

Though as speculated.. it was indeed a SPEED FEST.. or RIP FEST.. whatever you want to call it.. With everyone testing the limits of their bikes.. I must say.. even Ram.. who was riding a Victor.. could easily manage to make it with big brothers..

All in all.. a CLEAR IMPRESSION of SAFE BIKING.. Projected on LOADS of INDIAN JUNTA on road.. who gawked us as if Aliens had arrived. Sensible people who would have noticed us closely.. would have appreciated.. that everyone was riding sanely and obeying the Less obeyed Traffic rules. (Excluding speed limits )

Except a minor fall of R15 - yellow.. everyone came back home safe.

                  A safe & organized G2G.

If things go like this in everywhere in this country.. XBHP will be entitled as XBHP - India biggest, Safest & Seasoned Biking Community. Rock on.

PS - just imagine.. If XBHP gets famous as Safest biking Community... Parents will be proud that their son/daughter is a memeber of community and then the Impression of Biking as Leisure Activity will get a well deserved boost. With parents supporting freely Biking.

(PS PS - Also there will be loads of girls flocking around with each one of us.. Each one having 2 .)

thumbs up for each one of us, for presenting ourselves as responsible riders.

This was one of the biggest gatherings for any ride I had ever seen. In all 20 riders riding together was an eye popping sight for everyone.

Also for whoever wants to know - I did total 293 km on 10.9 ltr. of fuel - working out to an average of 27 km/ltr. Considering the high speed runs, it seems quite decent.
