Btw, can anyone tell me the symptom of an busted rear swingarm bush?

lately, the bike is running wobbly, i tried replacing the front brearing suspecting that it was the culprit but it has not helped.

Please do not reply if you dont have the specific answer cos i have already tried showing it to the showroom, but I got the expected answer "your rear swing arm is gone, whole assly needs to be changed!" and that includes the rear alloy".

If anyone knows a technically sound mechanic, please pm me the contact details

thanks in advance for resisting to put up non relevent answers
Rockrz, Did you checked the alloy wheel alignment. Simple thing is put the bike on main stand and rotate both the wheels and see if the wobbling effect is there.

If i am not wrong than swing arm and alloy are two different things as i also replaced my swing arm of my old bike and i have seen people replacing of pulsars, zma and other bikes but none replaced the rear tyre.

I think they wanna make money out of you.

If you are visiting close to my house than let me know i can tell my mechanic to check.

Rockrz, I guess you stay in Kothrud? Show your bike at Castrol Bike Zone near City Pride Kothrud. There is this guy called Shirish Joshi, very well known for his work and he will only suggest what is required. Respected by a lot of bikers.

Btw, why didn't you turn up for yesterday's BARK ride?

I guess we should have a technical G2g explaining features and demerits about vBulletin by Eshan and Utsav. It would be great to understand how efficiently we can post here.

first and foremost the hunk(thats what you ride i presume) has a pair swing arm bearing and not a bush(like in pulsars).Put your bike on main stand and try to check the swing arm for play by nudging in left and right.Else as shrinathrao has suggested check if the rear wheel has a bend.Did the rear tyre get punctured recently? In that case check whether the tyre has been mounted properly or not.Uneven seating can also cause wobbling.

I will help you out with demerits..

#1 People get bored of seeing your picture and signatures 8 times on a page. Let xBHPing remain enjoyable for people apart from you.
#2 Due to this (i.e.8 out of last 10 posts by you) the original topic of conversation / thread is lost in between what you want to say which quite frankly is rarely relevant to topic (no offends)
#3 You get warnings / infractions / bans from mods
#4 You don't get to know stuff that you don't eg. What all happened in yesterday's BARK ride.
#5 If you had not done all this (i.e. not staying on topic, personal attacks, multiple posting) somebody else would have posted about yesterday's incident. And you would have known what is happening with G2G and rides scene in the Pune chapter.
#6 There are newer members who might get the idea that doing what you are doing is totally acceptable and then we would have >1 members whom we would want to make understand.
#7 You drastically reduce your chances of being invited / welcomed for the rides which will be starting very soon.
#8 You get blocked by members who like to see the sanctity of the forum maintained.

@Eshaan I sent a similar message to 'abnv' and you on the same date which included what you did wrong and a link to the forum rules. Look at how he is posting and compare it to what you are doing. And since you have a post count and avg posts / day which is 10x higher than his, we have a 10x bigger problem here. Anyways I know at least 1 member as of now who has already blocked you (and thats not me). I know at least a group of 7 more members who would happily follow suit. This does not mean that you should stop posting. This only means 'think before you press the "submit reply" button'

P.S.: Most of these demerits are not targeted towards a specific person though the readers may feel so.

yup, I did exactly the same thing and i measured the play by a dial guage. the reading was 20 mm at a distance of 250 mm from the bush area. i presume this is very large hence i needed exact specs as to how much play is permissable.

exactly, thats why i ran away from the showroom. they are trying to sell me 2 sets of bushes (1220 bucks) a swing arm (1500 bucks) rear axle, set of rear bearings, and a rear alloy, however, i presume only the change of bush will be ok. thats what i want to confirm

If you are visiting close to my house than let me know i can tell my mechanic to check.

the insaurance i have is third party one. even though it meets the documents requirements, it will be useless if i crash hence i avoided the ride.
and on top of this, I had to work on sunday (pending work) hence could not join in

yup tried that and i got the reading as 20 mm at a distance of 250 mm from the bush center.

Else as shrinathrao has suggested check if the rear wheel has a bend.
the wheel is bent by 5 mm but I am not sure since this could also be the effect of play in bearing.

Did the rear tyre get punctured recently? In that case check whether the tyre has been mounted properly or not.Uneven seating can also cause wobbling.

i will check this one out. btw, the tread of the tyre seems to be in line.
Thanks for the replies guys. i have put my coments in bold.
I will get back soon as to what the exact problem is with the wobling. also, thanks to abhinav for pm'ing me the details of the mechanic.
