Im happy with both bikes but dad insists that i check out finance and after sales services , so all p220 and r15 owners in cochin and Tvm please help also i'd like to know more about the price difference b/w cochin n Tvm .
@ranjith,swas - hows the yamaha service
@ Kochu - Bajaj service
please mail me any details that you have about dealers in cochin .
Congratulations buddy
So you can make long rides here after.
I will recommend R15 for you if you can afford one.Somehow I think R15 suits you more than 220. First of all both are entirely different machines. From your words I clearly knows how much you loves cornering, let me remind you "Nothing inspires u like R15 do on a corner". 220 is all about straight line blasts. You will suffer on corners. But the package makes 220 a decent all-rounder.
Service:
Bajaj Parts are cheaper and freely available.
Yamaha parts are neither cheap nor freely available.
The service people of bajaj are almost ignorant. They have no passion for motorcycles. They dont know how many teeth a rear sprocket have, they donno which tyre a stock baby ninja runs on the rear. They donno how to wash a bike
.
BUT STILL I DO KNOW HOW TO GET THE JOB DONE BY THEM.
They are polite and knows how to talk
.
You can always teach them, whats the problem and get your issues rectified.
Finally its not as bad as u can read from my words. But as an Engineer I will always expect more professionalism from the people who take care of my machine.

Parts availability of YAMAHA is pretty decent..nothing to complain about...unless crashes are very bad im yet to see bikes waiting for parts @PSNOriginally posted by kochumvk View PostYamaha parts are neither cheap nor freely available.
but yeah BAJAJ spares are probably the easiest to get.
and R15's spares aren't as costly as they use to be....the newer spares are made locally and hence there has been a huge cut in price(though it MIGHT still be a tad costlier than the BAJAJ)Last edited by RanjithMN; 09-19-2010, 02:11 AM.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

R15 would have been my first choice and i love goin arround corners , but im trying to avoid it mainly because i have this slight issue with my backbone , the posture is a little uncomftable for me , i borrowed my friends R15 to test this out and by the end of the day my back was killing even though i was riding on the salem highway . So im leaning towards the p220 streetfinhter now ( fairing on 220 keeps brushing against my knee)
And another reason is the mileage, R15 has a high running cost .not to mension the initial 1,08 .Livin in the REDLINE district ------------------

actually R15 users have complained about the back pain only at the initial stages.....and R15 does give a mileage around 40 btw...
anyway its your choice and PULSAR's great but get F not S

Yeah...no projectors! :P
no man nothing wrong but i guess S is tuned for a low end ,so dont expect the top end of the F
Im not 100% sure about this...better just check up!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

good news
@silentknight: Its a great news that u ll be getting a new bike soon........Congrats.
I dont know the price difference between F and S. But I am a damn fan of the projector headlight of F.started riding a motorized cycle on a chetak classic.
Learned to accelerate on Y RX100&135.
Learned not to fall down, the patience to heal wound on knee and to ride long on a classic Pulsar 150(still running)&180.....
Planning for more dream destinations on a new ZMR

AFAIK there is no difference between F & S in the engine specification,F has slightly little more topend because of the aerodynamic shape of the fairing.Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostYeah...no projectors! :P

Nops,S will be good for the city traffic and F is better for the night ridingOriginally posted by SilentKnight View Postwhy is there something wrong with the S
The price difference is only 3K but its totally worth and it is different from other pulsar siblingsOriginally posted by praveenmemala View Post@silentknight: Its a great news that u ll be getting a new bike soon........Congrats.

Get the "F" man. The semi fairing will aid u very much at higher speeds.Originally posted by SilentKnight View PostHa ha , sadly fuels gona be coming out of my pocket money ..

The other will do better in city though, handling my machine in city was not a nightmare an all. Better Lighting better makes it a more usable tourer .

if you are going for R15, then go to PSN. PSN service is also good. Shinrai sucks alot....Earlier i used to give to Shinrai, but lot of problems faced from there. So i shifted to PSN.______________________________________________
