Btw two days back I happened to go to Barkas very early in the morning and had some nice haleem there - not sure if they would be open this sunday cause it would be the very next day of Eid. A ride on the ring road at 6am in the morning on a 40yr old bike was so satisfying

BTW...With my ride plans that never got implemented...I have finally deicded to get one done. The place I have deicded is not hillstations nor Leh. Its place called Dhanushkodi in Tamilnadu, More details at Dhanushkodi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I dont have any specific reason why I decided for this place, but after reading about it I felt that its worth visiting.

I am expecting it to be a trip of 7 days (12-01-2010 to 18-01-2010). Reason for the specific dates are

1. Annual solar eclipse to be perfectly visible from dhanushkodi on this day (15th Jan at 1.20PM). ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_January_15,_2010#Visibility)
2. I can get 5 business days leaves only in january. which I have already applied.
3. And I need setup a plan to convince my wife and parents as this would be very long journey.
4. Enough time to prepare physically, mentally & financially.

The landing date on dhanushkodi is 15-01-2010. As of now the journey details are.

Route (as of now):
Hyderabad >> Vijayawada (I really dont want to drive on NH9, any suggestions?)
Vijayawada >> Chennai
Chennai >> Thanjavur
Thanjavur >> Rameswaram & Dhanushkodi

Return route could be different. May be Via Bangalore!

Total distance could be around 3000+ kms (up & down).

Hope, I will do this one. Vishnu, Sorry I could not tell you anything about trips in December!! Leaves quota was already taken by others.

January is a bit tough for me...Cant make it
December 25, 26, 27 are a long weekend and we can apply leave for 1/2 days (on either 28, 29 or 23, 24) and plan for some ride...
