I dont know there is something like horizontal/vertical IS is there when I shot them, i have used Mode 1 IS. Later ravi anna told that may be that is not the right mode of panning

PS: I derive from the pictures that it is a Horizontal IS mode as all the people are still looking human, the effect should be reverse I guess!

Even I found out that horizontal and vertical IS when taking the 70-200f2.8'for zoo shoot
Technically it's best to turn off the IS for getting the panning shots but with out IS, when moving the cam horizontally during a panning click, our hand might move a bit vertically spoiling the pic...

The 70-200 has an additional advantage here. We can switch on only the vertical IS to overcome the above problem :P

Definetly not unecessary... I can use a lot of gyan now a days with a SLR in my bag!

One of the best guys in the business. he is located at Karkhana and believe me most of the bike svc guys and castrol bike zone guys come n get fork jobs and bent alloy works done from him. I got my bent alloy fixed from him couple of years back for one of my karizma. Great guy, great work and dead cheap than outlets.
