No ways dude, I had a very bad experience with contacts. Last time I rode with the contacts (that was the first and last time I used contacts), I had to go through a dusty road and a truck was in front of me, Though I was wearing a helmet, dust somehow managed to get into my eye and after riding for just 2 kms, My eye was all RED! As if it was bleeding. and that was followed by irritation and then followed by blurr and then followed by a bad day because of that. Had to ride back home without the lense and it was a nightmare.

I have spherical plus cylindrical corrections but I prefer wearing lenses specially on rides(even on the last ride that lasted for 13 hours on tarmac). Reason - much more comfortable and flexible than specs. I know you had a bad experience with lenses. Try silicone hydrogels + False tears, and the lenses would atleast be as comfy as specs.
Specs are very uncomfortable in rains. Because of tight cheek pads of my lid I am uncomfortable with specs on a long ride.

PS - With lenses you need to take care of dust.

Planning for a ride to my Home from Bangalore on 13th Aug.Need suggestions regarding things to carry,the route and the breakdown of the journey.
This is the initial plan:
13th Aug:Bangalore-Hyd
14th Aug:hyd-Vizag
15th Aug: Vizag-Cuttack

Please provide some insights on the itinaries I should carry and how safe are the routes.
Dont know much about places in AP .

Thats one hell of a Route(~1800kms ie., 900/day)! AFAIK the routes between Hyderabad - Rajamundry are the only one you have to worry about, all the remaining will be good, try talikg to koushikpmk or ravi@17bhp, they will have a better idea on this section.!

The main thing is that most of the guys are hitched i assume . they need to be back by 11ish... No offense guys, I am still in my singlehood days...
