As I am into my late 30s now, and since I am in a place where you get to see bikes once in a while... everything was just about to begin to looking like simple numbers to me, be it the age, be it the distance, be it the CCs of a machine, be it the top speed of a car/bike and the list goes on.

Last weekend me went cycling within the city along with a cpl of my cousins. We started off with no plans as such and were riding casually. An hr into the ride I suddenly realised that we were heading the way where I had a very tasty Saudi Biryani type of a dish, off course its way way different from the Hyd biryani but something on those lines and the attraction was the Camel meat . We were there on time for dinner and hungry as whatever you call it. Reached back to my room at around 11:30 and slept like a log. Next morning the first thing I did was to open Google Earth and check out the distance we had cycled - it was like 38-40kms. Thatz when someone from inside told me - and you thought you were getting old and its just another number? Then why did you had to lookup how many kms you did last evening? lol

Two weeks back I was at the DEW Tour - man o man - crazy BMX stunts, followed by amazing superbike stunts by a guy and then two Gorgeous MUSTANGS drifting, donutting and burn outs - looked like neither those two cars nor those two drivers could ever drive in a straight line LOL and then for the first time I saw 3 motorcross bike all that they do in the XGames live. It had been ages since anything I gave me butterflies or held my breath the way their show did.

Now for something interesting - yesterday afternoon I went to drop the CBR for a general service. The Kawasaki guys here service all makes. As I rode into the garage, I had to shake my head a few times to make myself realise that I was still in all my sense and what I was looking at is correct. Guess whom I saw - a brand new shining Red Pulsar 180. I asked the mech - how on earth did she come here - he smiled and replied, you should go and check the showroom at the front we have the entire pulsar range. When I went into the showroom, I was first greeted by all the big Ninja's and then the 2nd and 3rd row looked so indian - yes a Red Baby Ninja and then you won't believe it - a P150, Discovery 150, a Boxer and a P220. In this section of the showroom I almost felt like I was in some Rahul Bajaj showroom lol.

One of the things thatz been stopping me from getting myself a bike here is a proper and safe parking place cause unlike my bicycle I cannot lift it and take it up the stairs and park it in my first floor balcony . Seriously I must start looking for some place where I cud park - then I can get a license and get atleast the 220 -

BTW can someone educate me on the price of a 220 there?
Here in dubai you do have the P150, P180, P200, P220, Avenger, Discover, Honda Unicorn, TVS Apache from the Indian stable leaving aside ALL Royal Enfields.

I would strongly suggest you against buying a pulsar there. Just too underpowered for those roads and conditions. I found the RE Classic 500 to be perfect for street roads and city while it was useless on highways. Rode a Harley Sportster was annoying to ride on street roads but fun on the highways, same is the case with big bikes. The perfect solution would be something like a Ducati Monster 696/796 or tourers like Kawasaki Z1000S etc

      Hi Sagar,
U are absolutely right while these little ones would fit in the city, they would be too small for the highways here.

But off late there is strict implementation of speed limits here and on the highways it is 120kmph. One of the reasons for me thinking about the pulsar is, it will help me feel that I am pushing the bike while being in/near the speed limits. Its frustrating to ride a bigger one in the city and if I hit the highway, I am more than sure I would be breaking the speed limit everytime LOL. All said, safe parking is my biggest concern so she would have to wait until ....

That should be a amazing feeling to look @ the bike suddenly!!!!
AFAIK the price of a P220 is 86k on road for nonFI & 96K for FI..

                  • Hi guys,

had been on a short ride last weekend with my frnd and his CBR. Did a total of about 210kms and it was a blast. One wrong turn, a short ride through the desert, almost ran out of fuel. Most of it was sanely ridden at 100-120kmph, and one road allowed us to touch 180kmph. Sharing a few pics.
